1976 Type 2 Westfalia Bay Window Camper Bus

A beautiful tin top in great shape and has been well cared for. We've won and placed in a few car shows with this one and used it for camping quite a few times!

In 2014, we purchased this bus from a seller in San Diego, CA who had just rebuilt the engine and performed a ton of other mechanical work. Such as clutch, brakes, tie rods, ball joints, fuel pump and more! (We received all receipts for all of that work.) Since we've had it we've tried to make some updates but keep things inline with the original VW Bus vibe.

Mechanically it is very tight and solid, ready to cruise and camp. It is powered by 2.0 liter GD CODE motor. The manual transmission shifts properly through all gears. Exterior lighting including headlamps, turn signals, tail lights are working properly.

The following has been done since we've owned it (also have receipts):

2015

• Wiring in dash replaced

• Dash and steering wheel replaced

• New grey/black upholstery - seats, back bench seat, rear cushion, door panels

• Headliner replaced

• Modern radio with aux/ipod connection (has a vintage look)

2016

• New tires

• Hardwood flooring in camper space

2018

• New exhaust

• Body work and full exterior custom painted

• All seals on windows replaced

• All other seals (door handles, mirrors, etc) replaced during body work prior to paint,

• New front and rear bumpers

• Windows tinted

• Modern seat belts installed for both driver and passenger

• Updated lap belts on rear bench seat

• Main battery and auxiliary battery replaced

Cabinetry is all original parts, in fair condition, there are some spots where the laminate is cracking and peeling. But overall it still looks pretty good for 40+ years. New removable center console box matches wood laminate.

• Rear bench seat converting to double bed with locker below

• Rear deck cushion

• Passenger seat swivels to face rear
