Overall very good condition 1975 VW Bus. Ready for your own touches.
Currently painted in two tone primer, the original bus color appears to have been orange - it presents well for a good running and driving project that you can make your own.
This bus does run and drive, we just adjusted valves and as long as battery is charged up it starts every time with quick turn of a key. It's got the bigger 1.8 liter type 4 motor. I see loads of busses on Craigslist where they are asking more money than I'm starting the auction at for something that doesn't run or drive! Get this one and get started down the road sooner.
The battery tray area is rusted out - and I've shown in pictures one of the areas where there are some rust holes in belly pan of the bus. Definitely some small areas of rust concern, but overall this is a very solid bus. Floor areas under the driver and passenger area present well, the overall body structure is solid. There were definitely some repairs started on the back right corner and more to be done.
I've only owned it a short time - but a couple times I've gone out and went to start it the battery has been dead. it's possible there is something causing a draw on the battery that is draining it, but I haven't tried to troubleshoot that. There is an after market radio and that would be my first area to look at for battery going dead. I've put a charger on it and been able to get it to start with no problems.
The interior does need to be redone - the seats need padding and covering, and the headliner has some holes cut in it. There is no middle seat included in sale but these do come up on craigslist now and then.
There is no reserve price set - so this will sell to the highest bidder.
A lot of people have asked why I'm selling this after not owning it very long - I cleaned up a few things, put in new brake lights, and new shifter, and really don't see this as something I'm going to keep. I'd rather focus on one of my other bus projects for now.
