Description
This is a really solid 1957 Single Cab bus. It was Dove Blue originally. I got this out of Arizona and it is not a rust bucket at all - look at shots underneath - very good shape. We built a 1600 for it - rebuilt - runs excellent. The transmission was rebuilt with a straight axle kit - we used lowering plates on the back and installed Thing brakes. It has imitation Fuchs and new tires - new shocks. The front end is a ball joint out of a late 60's Westfalia. There appears to have been some repair and bondo - and the gates are there but were rebuilt with lots of rivets - weird but true.I put the reproduction press bumpers on front and back.
Everything works and it is what I would classify as a rolling restoration with mechanical work done. It can be taken back to stock, left as is, or repainted any direction is still possible. It has California YOM plates for 1957.
I also have datecoded correct original wheels, front and rear original suspension/drivetrain an original press bumper in fair condition and another set of gates that are straight and painted that could go with it for the right deal.
