1978 VW Karmann SuperBeetle Convertible, white, grgd, 6-yo vinyl top,5 insidepix

This clean 1978 VW Karmann Super Beetle Cabriolet is all white with comfortable black cloth interior and seats, 1302 body, 1600 cc 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission with Karmann emblems.

Pluses:

It runs with its well-maintained original engine.

It has always been garaged and adult driven.

Lights work.

The white grain vinyl convertible top is a 5-6 year-old replacement. It goes up and down, a little stiff.

The bra and spare tire are included.

The rear window has defroster with dash control, although it's not currently hooked up.

The radio was replaced with a Kenwood cassette deck and speakers; the cassette to phone input jack is included.

The 4th hub cap is inside the car.

The black cloth upholstery is in good shape, no cuts.

Help needed:

The body and paint and chrome are original, have some rust dots, some flakes, needs light cosmetic work.

Running boards need work or replacement.

The odometer cable is broken, so it always reads ~81K.

The windshield washer tank needs repair/replacement.

Dashboard has a crack.

Back passenger wheel makes noise after awhile; the mechanic indicated it was not a difficult fix.

Interior photos show seats in good condition, steering wheel, dash board. Passenger seat release handle broke, frame for the handle is included. Seat back still goes forward, a finger still moves the latch. Audi shift knob (works fine).
