1963 Volkswagen 23 Window Walk Through Transporter. Restored to perfection by a Transporter Restorations expert to exacting original specifications including the rare Mouse Grey color.
I spoke to the restorer at length about the restoration, and the bus he started with. It was as you see it today. A 23 Window Mouse Grey Walk Through. The restorer is considered with in the Volkswagen world including the SAMBA forums to be atop expert on the restoration of Transporters. Out of respect to his time I will not be posting his name on the ad. He may be willing to speak to very interested buyers, but that will have to be arranged in advance. He shared with me some of the details of the restoration that include the painstaking body work that he performed by hand. He was brought in halfway through the restoration process to save the day. He said at the halfway point he invested an additional250 man hours to correct issues as well as create what you see here today. Using original parts including the correct date coded wheels and correct red rubber trim the restoration was a painstaking process.
I will be adding more information shortly. I encourage anyone interested to give me a call at 602-908-9267. this bus is held in a private collection in Paradise Valley Arizona. It is started and run monthly, but it is not a daily driver. This is a legitimate documented museum piece.
