Car description |
---|
~ 53 year old Pearl White vintage Volkswagen Beetle sedan with gorgeous, entirely factory original (not reproduction) “salt/pepper” red low back seat interior. This includes factory original headliner, door panels, square weave carpet, rubber mats, paint, etc.Garage kept Orange County (Inland Southern California) car.
If you are in search of a super nice, unmodified, heavily documented from new, bone stock, dry climate rust free 60’s Beetle, this car is very worthy of consideration.Seeing is believing.. Documented matching numbers car.Intriguing history... Car spent 22 years carefully preserved under a cover in it’s own garage, on jackstandsupon original owner’s safe return from Vietnam. Stored, but far from forgotten...California original black plate car, meaning it has never been registered outside of the state of California. Hence condition. *Note only rear plate having been installed, part of history mentioned... The original owner was a renegade, as California requires both front and rear plates be displayed, and felt the addition of the (front) plate disturbed the lines on his car. The original plate remains mint inside the original California DMV issued Manila envelope. *Included with the car are a series of original period snapshot photos to substantiate this.Senior owned, 113,000 miles (2,132 miles per year accumulated average).
Purchased new at Kendon Motors, 1241 Pacific Coast Highway in Harbor City, California on February 27th, 1965.
Car received a careful glass out, very high quality, trim removed, (exterior only) original Pearl White respray close to twenty years ago and finish remains essentially flawless to date. Having been garage kept, the car has been subject to minimal UV exposure /excessive ambient temperature throughout its entire Life.ENTIRELY fresh brake components front to rear (documented) within past 100 miles as well as various fresh front end suspension components.
Original selling dealer optional Blaupunkt AM/FM/Shortwave radio with Blaupunkt (fader controlled) front/rear luggage area speaker. Factory pamphlet included. Produces faint sound and lights up, but not currently audible.*The car absolutely runs and drives as well as it presents. Factory six volt system remains. Very Quiet... The way, in my opinion, a good original ‘60’s Volkswagen Beetle should operate.Quite content at 60-65 mph freeway speed. Hands off wheel, tracks arrow straight.Shown by appointment only and inspection is absolutely welcome. Car is registered and titled in my name. Collector owned.Being offered due to relocation/logistics involved, and sale of house.
