Car description |
---|
This is a 1985 VW diesel Jetta GL, 4 door sedan that has been inside garage kept ever since a front end collision in 1992 until I picked up a week ago. In fact, vehicle records of the last oil change was the day of the accident (returning home after oil change). Look at photos. Body panels, door, interior, engine, tranny, etc., are all in good shape. Tires are in good shape, even spare in trunk. Selling for uncle who is too old to want to try to bring back to life.
Would make nice money parting car out. I would do it, but if you're the high bidder when you come to get it, you'll see why I don't---I have way too many other projects around here.
Update: 5/3/18:
After numerous questions I have added three new pictures, of damage to passenger door and another picture of the radiator supports in the front. I took another look at the car. The motor looks straight and in place and it's not up against the firewall. The radiator reservoir and air cleaner box are still okay and in place. There is enough clearance to get at the crankshaft if you want to try to turn the engine over. (physically I can not). It looks like the battery cable to the starter shorted but appears to be the only shorted wires. The power steering reservoir has been removed, but is laying there in good shape; and there was fluid in the system that blew out when we were turning the wheels and loading the car onto a trailer.
Must make arrangements to pick vehicle up soon as possible after purchase.
