Car description |
---|
1960 2 fold Ragtop original-not grafted! Originally ruby red-current red appears a much brighter red in the images then in reality. This car is a California car and is in really good shape.
Amazingly no battery tray damage, the best I have ever seen!-original pans.
Body and pan are matching numbers 3033885 APRIL 1960 and have never been separated - The car has a three rib front apron-good indication no front end damage. The car sports the larger body Vin plate due to a change made in late March 1960 to the larger Vin plate.
It had an older restoration which needed a new interior due to crispy vinyl. So new carpet, seat upholstery and side panels have been installed. Headliner is in good shape-missing rag top portion. Period correct visor organizer/mileage counter. Heated seat pads were added to the front when seats were redone.
Some minor scratches in paint are to be noted.
An original 1960 dated tombstone radio got a new Aurora Design conversion to a fully functional am/fm/aux input/voice command bluetooth. Amazing job by the guy in Tennessee. Check out this link to see this exact radio demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLNPV8yyC3w&t=24
Wheels are a set of red powder coated 16x5.5s with new 205/55r16 Barum Bravuris tires, large emblem caps and beauty rings. "YES 16" Smoothies"
The engine is nicely appointed chrome and is believed to be an 1835cc, however it was in the car when I got it and was not disclosed to me exactly what it is. Runs very nicely.
It has an after market VDO vintage style round gas gauge which functions properly. The speedo is a refurbished correct date from the guy at Pomona swap meet. The reserve lever with extension arm still operates. Rubber at glass has been replaced. Pop outs from KOCH's VW were installed.
12volt alternator system. A new side mount battery was installed-for safety. I have a 12v wiper assembly to be installed.
Good trans- synchromesh, shifts good, no popping out of gear
Disc brakes were added up front for safety.
Very cool car that needs a new home with love and care!-"IT'S THE HAPPY CAR"-Very hard to part with this car. I just have too many and this one is ready for someone else to enjoy.
Clean California title in my name with pink in hand. Cool black California plate: "OLD RAG"
