NICE 1968 Volkswagen Beetle baja kit bug custom kit car Hot rod

1968 vw bajathis is a very nice little baja bug that is a blast to run around town and play with.It has a 1600 dual port engine with a 4 speed trans. the engine may be larger but I didn't build it so I'm not sure. I bought it to play with and have decided to go another direction. I hunted and hunted a nice baja and everything I came across was ruff. this one is not perfect but its a nice one for a 1968 vw. It was redone but was a few years back and it shows its imperfections in places. The engine runs good and strong. its cold natured but runs great when it warms up. they all leak oil but this one isn't bad at all. it has twin carbs, not sure what brand and she sounds great with stinger pipe and baffle. has a deep sound but not to loud. the trans shifts good and the clutch works great as well. it will pop out of reverse though. reverse still works. the paint is a nice silver with metal flake. really needs to be waxed up. still has some residue were the previous owner used it as an advertising piece. the paint has some small scratches, blimishes and such. it has a radio and cb but I didn't get them to work, didn't check fuses either may be a easy fix. the driver door panel will need to tlcwere its come loose around the edges. the interior is in pretty good shape and has a custom covered box with storage in the back. I did have a problem one time with the ignition switch then it started working again. just a heads up if it gives an issue down the road. battery will go dead if it sits for a few days. may have a drain or just need a new battery. the floor pans are solid. under the hood in front of the gas tank has some foam in it. not sure why may have some rust undernith and try to keep water out? not sure. tires have good tread depth but like all beetles there so light tires will get a little dry rot before they were out. have some cracking but not bad. wheels have some rust as well. the breaks work good. I have a lot invested in this good looking little baja with a little tlc she will be great again. she gets tons of thumbs up and waves everywere she goes.
