Car description |
---|
Exterior - fiber glass fenders 2 inch wider than stock. Deck lid stand off kit. Porsche 911 wheels 99-01. Powder coated with a nice black finish wrapped in new Nitto tires. LED brake lights snow flake style.
Interior - went with the factory look on seats and head liner. All brand new covers and new style stuffing. Brand new head liner and a custom carpet for a perfect fit.
Paint & body - car was painted 2 years ago. Cyber grey a GM color. DuPont base coat. Clear coat was used to get such a clean look. Car was shipped to Illinois 3 years ago from Arizona where it had spent its life. That being said it is not a rust bucket and has not had a lot of rust repair. The luggage tray had pin hole rust and so did the outer rockers. They were all replaced by Archway Imports a professional shop.
Engine - 1835 full flowed thick side wall on jugs. Open flow 94's. This is a strong and dependable engine with MSD electronic ignition and electronic fuel pump. I have put around 3,xxx miles on this car with not trouble and just set valves and changed oil. Runs 70 MPH down the interstate no problem. Has a deep sump with an external filler for maximum amount of oil with an oil cooler mounted underneath and the car on a temperature switch to keep everything nice and cool. With this current setup it is a very nice turn key car built to last and play hard.
I bought this nearly rust free car 3 years ago from Arizona and did a nut and bolt restoration on it the best I knew how. Wiring is tip top condition. Paint and body are beautiful as well as a simple but functional interior. It's all state of the art components disc brakes, electronic ignition, electronic fuel pump, updated tires and wheels, and a modern paint choice makes this a nice clean reliable Volkswagen.
