Car description

Rare 1978 Champagne Edition sunroof model. Two owner. 24,000 miles on the completely rebuilt 2 liter fuel injected hydraulic valve motor. 123,000 documented original miles. One key fits all locks and ignition. Original manual and warranty voucher book. Included in the sale is a maintenance/repair log book dating all the way back from 1982 to 2015!
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION- 24k miles on completely rebuilt 2 liter hydraulic valve fuel injected motor August of 2005. At the time of the motor rebuild a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and fuel lines were installed. New alternator, voltage regulator, and distributor. The motor runs like a watch. The four speed manual transmission shifts crisp and precise. The new brakes are excellent. The steering and suspension is tight. The van runs and drives exceptional. The van needs nothing mechanically.
PAINT/ BODY- The paint is original. Special two tone exterior finish. The van does have minor rust on the right rear battery tray area and a spot on the left rear wheel well and right rear by side marker. Both spots of rust are very localized. Included in the sale is the replacement metal sections for both areas. There is a dent on the rear hatch area. A new rear hatch is included with the sale as well. New sliding door roller and latch. The previous owner installed PVC tape around the sunroof to prevent water leaks; it caused rust to occur and if you want to remove the tape it will require about $2100 in metal repairs and paint and parts to get sunroof working. The price reflects this and if you want completed can be added to price and my shop will complete. All the other rust and dents can be repaired for $1600 total with paint blending to keep patina.
INTERIOR- The head liner is in good condition for its age. All electric works perfectly, Factory Champagne Edition Quarts-crystal chronometer (clock). The dash is perfect with no cracks. New Kenwood CD player and speakers. The original carpet and interior door and kick panels are in good condition. Fold down full length Z-bed (camping bed) with seat belts. I do have a brand new memory foam pad for the rear hatch cushion that is not pictured but included with the bus. Also, the jump seat and table have been removed as I found a Champagne Edition Middle seat which is included.
OTHER- New front brake calipers, rotors, pads, and brake lines. New mater cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, shoes, rear brake lines and CV boots. The KYB GR-2 gas shocks front and rear offer a comfortable and stable ride. Repacked wheel bearings front and rear. New fuel filler neck, and level fuel sender. New Wild Cat truck rated tires (95% tread).
Bus is located in San Diego CA and will be sold with a Washington State title. I bought this because I wanted a sunroof bus but ended up getting into split window restoration that is sucking every penny I have into the restoration. Great bus at a very reasonable price.
