Selling an Excellent 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI. I purchased this car from a Porsche collector with all receipts/records since new including original window sticker. Best guess on mileage is mid 120,000's the previous owner stated the speedometer was replaced at 65,000 and current mileage reads 58,000+ which seems accurate judging by the interior, etc. The interior is in rare near perfect condition with just a couple small wear spots - no rips or tears, and comes with the material from a complete matching rear seat, should the new owner desire to make any repairs. The headliner is in excellent shape and the dash has no cracks or blemishes. The car has a "retro" Sony stereo with front and new rear speakers in original location that sounds excellent. The car has been repainted with the original Royal Red color in basecoat/clearcoat and all the original stickers and sidestripes are replaced as it came from the factory. There is a working sunroof, and there are no dings or rust spots. The wheels were sent out and reconditioned to like new and the tires are new as well. The engine is in excellent running condition and is strong due to recent head reconditioning, header and techtonics exhaust. The Bilstien shocks are new as are the Shine lowering springs. The suspension bushings, and engine mounts are new and were replaced with poly. The car has both a lower and upper brace - the upper removed for better engine pictures. The timing belt was recently changed and a complete tune up done. Shifter bushings were replaced and an uninstalled higher ratio 5th gear is included in the sale. Everything, including the ice cold a/c works on the car. The original working clock was replaced with a matching correct oil pressure gauge and the clock goes with the car. It shifts smoothly and is really a fun car to drive attracting a lot of attention at car shows. NOTE: This is not a "project" - everything nowworks as it should.
This item is also for sale locally, and if you have questions my name is Mark 239-292-2370.
I've had a number of calls asking about other Volkswagens I've listed and sold. I'm not a broker or dealer. I have a "real" job, do this strictly as a hobby and have owned and worked on various Volkswagens since 1985. I try to find low mile examples that need minor reconditioning - mechanical and cosmetic - then go through the entire car before I list it. I try to provide honest descriptions so as not to waste anyone's time.
