I purchased this Baja Bug from an elder man recently. He stated he could not get the engine to run and was tired of dealing with. So I purchased it thinking I had the time for a project, and I do not.
I can not get the engine to turn over, I believe it is seized or rusted ( I found rust on one spark plug, now it may be an easy fix for a volkswagen guru, but I am definitely not one of those.
There are cracks (some are the paint and I believe some are the fiberglass) and a few chips in the fiberglass hood and fenders, the right rear fender is loose and needs to be bolted back down.
Windows work, doors shut good. Rear tires are cracking, front look decent
There is minimal surface rust on the vehicle, at the hinges and a few spots here and there. No cancer that I can find. The pan and floors appear to be solid, and look good. I had a volkswagen guy tell me they looked great. The seats are dirty but should;d shine up great!
The steering wheel is peeling and some chunks are missing out of it, but it operates fine. The headliner looks good as well. I believe the interior is in good shape overall and shouldn't need much, a radio and some elbow grease.
Please look at the pictures using a computer and not a phone. Zoom in and look at the vehicle, I took 24 photos and don't mind sending more, just include a phone number in the message and I can text you whatever you need.
I see other Bajas with no motor going for over 1000$. I wish I could've got this running, but a las I can not and do not have time to put into this project. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions, I want everything covered to the person who buys this!
