Car description |
---|
This clean classic 1956 Beetle is located in Camino CA, about an hour east of Sacramento. We will cooperate with world-wide shipping. The car can be viewed almost anytime.
Overall, I would call this vintage Bug a gorgeous driver. Up close there are flaws in the paint, but this car gets all sorts of attention everywhere it goes!
It runs and drives, and is currently on Non-Op status with California DMV. Title is clean / clear. The tires all have excellent tread, but they are pretty old. All glass is good.
The engine is a later model, (1776 cc's) using one of the best cases (engine blocks) that VW ever made. Two Solex 40 P11 carburetors from a vintage Porsche feed the fuel, and an oversized exhaust pipe handles the spent gases. The engine has less than 1000 miles on it since the rebuild.
The transmission was rebuilt, and feels nice and tight. The clutch is new and the brakes were done at the same time.
It has an original (genuine) luggage rack in excellent condition; those are extremely hard to find.
The front "hood" hinges have been changed out to ones that don't bind / break. The front suspension is adjustable, and the rear center section of the body has been modified so that it is removable, making it much easier and faster to pull the engine!
Overall, this is a rust-free body with the exception of some damage under the battery.
This clean Beetle has a few imperfections, but it is one of the best-looking "projects" out there!
