38000 mile convertible Super Beetle!
You are viewing a 1977 Champaign Edition Super Beetle produced in 1977 tocelebrate the one-millionthVolkswagen Golf made.
Reportedly VW made 1000Champaign Edition beetles & sent only one to each US dealer. This Champaign Edition version is all white with special interior fitments, special wheels & neat special edition pinstripes down each side. The engine was/is Volkswagens legendary pancake/boxer flat four making nearly 50HP with its fuel injected platform. It is anabsolute ball to drive as you row through the four speed box an your way up to cruising speeds listening to that little engine hum. The fuel milage isterrific and the power is ample for the lightweight nature of the 1977 Super Beetle.
This 1977 Champaign Edition comes from the original lady owner. She retired to Florida 25 years ago + and left the original Super Beetle stored in her sisters garage for all of those years. The car was parked and not driven since she had left for that sunny climate. We were able to pull the car out ofstorage and send the gas tank out to be cleaned. We replaced the fuel pump & hoses, the fuel level sending unit and cleaned the rest of the fuel system with great results. Afterreplacing all of the fluids battery & oil she was thrilled to hear it run again. The brake mastercylinder was then replaced along with all of the brake lines, wheel cylinders and shoes to make it feellike it was 1977 all over again.
The car starts up & drives well. It goes straight & gets over 35MPG. This is a survivor with 85% original paint. Only one front fender was painted fromgasoline spilling on the paint by the fuel door. The interior is excellent, original & untouched including thenovelty "smiling bug" floor mats. Gauges & lights work as designed. The top (if you ever care to use it) is in good condition with only a slight sag in the headliner. Paint is shiny and looks very good still. A few small stone chips with accompanying touch ups were made to seal each chip spot. Nevertheless it is very presentable & still original (survivor cars are only original once!).
The original manuals are with the car and show the maintenance stamps / as you would expect to see with a very well taken care of Beetle. The last stamp at 31000 miles was back in the early eighties. Shortly after that it was stored and preserved right up to today.
Its not often that a survivor like this isavailable priced as well as this one. You could enjoy this now & drive as it appreciates. Not many cars can offer the smiles per miles that a VW convertible can. Get this one for your own!
This 1977 Volkswagen Super Beetle Champaign Edition is sold as-is with nowarranty expressed or implied. It is the buyers responsibility to ship or drive the car home after sale. Seller may help with loading on transport truck if needed. Payment in full expected no later than five (5) days after auction end. Please email with any questions.
