1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Karmann Convertible
I have owned this car for 16 years and it has been great to me, but now it is time to pass the fun along to a new owner. Listed below are some of the improvements/repairs/current conditions. Please don't hesitate to contact me and ask some questions.
Engine
-Original 1600cc engine 119,000 miles
-Original fuel injection system works flawlessly
-Pulls strong on the highway, 70+MPH all day long
-Equipped with catalytic converter, which leads me to believe it was a West Coast/California car originally. It actually passed the emissions test the last year it needed to be tested in 2001.
-Alternator and battery replaced in 2009
-Oil changed on regular intervals
Exterior
-Original Lemon Yellow paint
-Has minor chips and imperfections here and there
-Top replaced in 2006, spared no expense. ($3000)
-Comes with convertible top boot for when the top is down
-All original glass
Interior
-Front seats reupholstered in 2006
-New Clarion Radio/CD player installed in 2014
-All seats in flawless condition. No tears, rips, holes.
-All electrical components work (Wipers, turn signals, clock, headlights, warning lights, defogger fan, even the door buzzer)
-Comes with lady bug floormats front & back
-All windows roll down correctly
Mechanical/Misc.
-Brakes converted to disc, front and back
-Chrome wheels have seen better days, tires in okay condition.
-Will also come with the original Super Beetle sport wheels with tires.
-Transmission shifts smoothly, doesn't pop out of gear.
-Floorpan under battery was repaired by previous owner.
This car has always been stored in a dry garage since I've owned it (16 years), and has rarely seen any inclement weather. I have always been very meticulous with every aspect of this car.
The history of this car, as far as I know it: I purchased this car from a local family who owned it for approximately 2-3 years. They only reason they sold it was because their daughter was getting her license and they didn't want her driving it. They purchased it from an older German man located in the Sandusky, Ohio area that could not drive it any longer and his children were not interested in it. I'm not sure if he was the original owner, but I assume I'm probably the 3rd or 4th owner.
Please contact me with any questions you may have. I am a motivated seller.
*Clean title in hand*
*Can assist with vehicle shipping*
*Vehicle is being offered for sale locally as well*
