This auction is for my 1963 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe. It would be a great car to restore or make into a cool patina'd cruiser, which was my intention for it but I have too many projects and need to let a few go. It's clearly been off the road for a long time but I don't have much history prior to my ownership. I did find a Nevada license plate in it from 1975 though. The lack of rust plus the dryness of the rubber seals and upholstery lead me to believe that it's spent a lot of time in a dry climate. The engine is gone but apart from that, it's a very complete and original car. I've looked all over this thing and apart from some surface rust under the floormats, it's clean. All of the typical ghia rust traps like the headlight buckets rockers and battery tray are solid. unlike a lot of Ghia's I've seen, the nose has never been hit. It still has most of the original paint and doesn't look to have ever been in an accident. There are a couple small dents near the right headlight and some scratches on the rocker panels. It looks like someone used some paint stripper on the passenger's door that was then covered with house paint or something. There are also some primer spots on the nose and right rear quarter.Apart from the missing engine, it appears to be complete from a mechanicalstandpoint. It will be easy to transport as the tires hold air, it rolls easily and the parking brake works. I hate to sell it since rust free early Ghia's aren't easy to find but I've been sitting on it for too long and don't know when I'll get time for it. I have a clear Colorado title in my name. I'm happy to sell it overseas and assist with local transport. Thanks!
