Car description

Selling my 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet. I went to Vancouver BC a few months ago to buy this car and drove 7 hours straight back to Portland, it runs great! As chance would have it, another car came up for sale that I had to buy, hence this sale.
The car has a freshly rebuilt 2.0L ABA from a 96 GTI and a BUNCH of maintenance work. The new engine gives this Cabrio a lot more power than the factory 90hp 1.8L engine that was originally installed. Brand new top looks amazing and is water tight, includes the super rare, always missing tonneau cover! The interior is all original and well taken-care of with only some light wear on the driver's seat. No rust, body is in excellent shape with a few paint scuffs here and there. I looked for a loooong time to find one in this color, Sapphire Metallic, not easy to find. Being a Canadian model, the odometer is in KM, 248K kilometers equals about 146K miles. The car has a clean and clear Oregon title in my name.
Recent work within the past few months:
New top
Freshly rebuilt 2.0L ABA engine from a 96 GTI
All new gaskets and seals (head gasket and bolts, pan gasket, valve cover, stem seals cam/crank seals, etc)
New timing belt and tensioner
Factory OBD1 ABA engine management
New fuel tank, fuel pumps, and fuel filter
New brake master cylinder and front calipers and full brake fluid flush
New tires
New Raceland 4-2-1 exhaust header
New clutch
New radiator and fresh G13 coolant
New K&N air filter
New spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor
New polyurethane engine, steering, and suspension mounts/bushings
Fresh OEM Volkswagen transmission fluid
New Bilstein shocks all around
Lowering springs
New headlights
Shaved side markers
The car starts instantly, runs strong, shifts perfectly, brakes well and handles excellent. Shows great oil pressure, cool running temps and has a great exhaust note. A really nice build.
This is a NO RESERVE auction, the high bid is the winning bid. Please don't bid if you aren't able to buy, let's not waste either one's time here. The winning bidder will be getting a car that's been gone through completely and is ready to roll. It's road proven and ready to be driven any amount of distance. Please email with any questions and again, only bid if you are ready to buy, thanks.
