PLEASE COMPLETELY READ THE FOLLOWING:
This isn’t just a 1963 VW Split Window Bus. It’s a rolling piece of art! The paint on this bus was recently added to by Derek Stevens, a touring manager of the famous “Further Bus.” (google it if you don't know). With plenty of canvas remaining for you to add your artistic touches, this bus is ready for festivals and faires.
This bus has crank out camper windows on the sides lending us to believe it started as a panel bus but may have become a day camper along the way.
The motor seems to have been rebuilt not too long ago. It has new brake shoes, cylinders, master cyl, and flex lines. As well as new tires with not one mile on them.
It is currently without wipers and the condition of the wiper motor is unknown.
All the lights seem to work.
Mirrors are mismatched. Reflective material behind the glass of driver's mirror has deteriorated.
Mileage recorded not accurate.
The front seats need upholstery. Currently the frames and springs are just covered with some burlap. The rear seats are out of a non-VW commuter bus. They have not been bolted down. They are included for you to bolt where you like or toss them out if you wish. Your choice.
This bus does have it’s share of rust issues as they usually do at this age. It is not a fully restored $50,000+ bus. But it is a running, driving, split window art bus. The rust issues are in the usual places (please see the pictures). The outer and inner rockers, the bottom of the doors, the bottom of the nose, the front floor area, the cargo floor in the front corners, and the battery tray. The front floor area has been cleaned, rust treated, and patched with non-factory replacement sheet metal panels and body filler. We had intended to do a similar low budget repair to the cargo area as well, but decided to leave that up to the next owner. The pictures will also show some rough spots on the lower panels.
Again, this isn’t a show bus. But it runs well, and it stops well with help from the new brakes and new tires.
This vehicle runs and drives, however, a complete inspection and service is recommended before any extended driving to ensure the safety of all vehicle occupants/passengers.
