Car description |
---|
1973 Karmann Ghia Coupe.This Ghia was totally restored inside and out in the early 90,s with a new 2006cc Gene Berg motor.It has been driven 7000 miles since the resto and never in the winter.This is a no rust car and came from Grand Rapids,Michigan and now resides in New Brunswick,Canada.The interior is all new with all new window and door seals,carpet,seat upholstery, Grant wood steering wheel,Vintage Speed classic shifter,bamboo parcel tray and a modern day cd player with two front kick panel speakers and two rear speakers behind the back seat.The exterior has recently installed stainless steel bumpers,empi 8 spoke wheels,new Vintage Speed Stainless Steel Exhaust,Stainless Steel luggage rack and a 3 month old paint respray in Highland Green.The car has had one rear floor pan replaced on the passenger side and has zero rust on the undercarriage.The only things that do not work are the rear window defroster and the windshield wash but all the hoses and bottle are there.The cost of the engine alone was 4500.00 back in 92.This car is in show car condition and is a fast little car around town.I have numerous receipts from the previos owner and from the upgrades I did myself.
Please note the car is now in winter storage but accessible.The pics were taken in the later part of the summer and I did not take updated photos of the changes made below,so please note;
The serpentine belt system was changed back to the original Gene Berg crank pulley and alt.pulley because the serp crank pulley did not have have an oil slinger on the back side and it was messy.The shifter you see is a CSP and a new Vintage Speed classic shifter is now installed for more of a stock look.There is an oil pressure and oil temp guage installed in the empty two guage holder mounted under the center of the dash.The luggage rack was replaced with a non slatted stainless steel rack as I had rust issues with the one shown in the pics.I can give you updated pics of the above mentioned if you request them.
