I have for auction a 1977 Volkswagen Karmann Super Beetle Convertible with original 52,600 miles as of 10/15/15. As far as I know, am the 4th owner. It was stolen from the first owner in the mid-80s, rom what I'm told, nd the owner was made whole by the insurance company, ho then recovered it and sold it to the second owner, ho had it until about 1999, hen it was repainted and sold to the 3rd owner. The 3rd owner was a mechanic, ho continued to keep the car in his garage and work on it. He added a new vinyl convertible top as well as keeping the car in tip-top shape. It's always been garage-kept and NO rust under the car, hanks to a rust coating...Very Clean and everything works except the temperature gauge, hich was installed on the dash but never hooked to the engine. Needs new horn. Drives flawlessly and smooth. Tires are new and with full tread (in addition to getting the car inspected through 09/2016, hich is unnecessary on antique vehicles in Pennsylvania, also obtained an independent inspection from AIM Inspections (link below)). Convertible top and interior lining are newer and in great shape. When I bought it I replaced the battery, uel pump, nd had regular oil changes from a shop that only works on Volkswagens (look up Wagenwerx in Wyndmoor), ir cleaner drain and replace brake fluid, nd several other bits of upkeep to keep it in shape (records will come with the vehicle). Now, o the boring stuff:Don't bid if you don't agree with my terms, lease, ut they aren't outrageous! Will not ship over seas unless you present a really good case and prompt, erifiable payment, SA ONLY.NADA Value for the above condition is about $14,600. I'm asking significantly less than that, artially because of the Reconstructed status on the title. The reason for this is that in PA, ars must be listed as reconstructed if they have either been in an accident that is deemed a total loss and then fixed anyway, r the vehicle is stolen. In this case, nd as InstaVIN (like a CarFax for cars older than 1981) will confirm, he vehicle was stolen in the '90's and recovered by the insurance company.InstaVIN ReportThis car is awesome and dependable, ut like any car its age, must offer it in "AS IS" condition. With the state inspection, ecords, nd independentInspection Report, have tried to describe my car honestly, nd I'm sure you will have years of enjoyment from my car, ut please ask questions before bidding as all sales are final. All shipping will be done and paid by new ownerMy preferred from of payment is PayPal. I can also accept a combination of paypal or cash, nd credit card. I know of the scam where people offer the asking price and sometimes more, nd have an "agent" pick up the car and give a cashiers/certified check that turns out to be bogus. Don't try that with me. I really prefer local pickup, n which case, f you want to use a certified/cashiers check, e can go to the bank together to obtain. Payment is due within3 days from end of auction. An unpaid item case may be opened if payment is not received within 5 days.Again, prefer payments to be made using the Paypal service.I am not responsible if you do not insure shipment.Payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. If I do not receive payment, cannot hold the vehicle. This is a rare find and I will not have trouble finding another buyer, nd I am not desperate. I am not so concerned with money, hich is why my reserve will be set really low, ut my biggest concern is that the person who gets this car appreciates it. It's got a wonderful history and I'd really like it to go to a good home. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges.Inspection ReportThis car, n fair condition, s worth $14,600 (check NADA Website). I do not expect that much, nd I didn't pay that much when I bought it, ut I did buy this car for almost $10,000, o please keep in mind that this is a solid vehicle.
