Car description

For sale here is a beautiful 1963 Volkswagen 23 Window Van. It is a excellent example of this very rare anddesirableconfiguration. It was partially restored between 1988 and 1990 by a gentleman from Vail, olorado with a passion for allVolkswagens. There is a file with many receipts. Upon his passing, t was stored for 18 years. It is presently owned by his daughter. I am acting as her agent for the sale of the vehicle. It was removed from storage and properly prepared to run and drive ( and new tires were installed). I have personally driven the vehicle and it runs and drives very well.I have pointed out several flaws in the photos. Most were from less than careful paint preparation, n my estimation. These are an easy fix. Three windows are cracked (two curved top windows and one side window). Included in the sale are boxes of parts. In the boxes are six of the top curved windows, our sunvisors, ubcaps, mirrors, M radio etc.. Included also is what appears to be an original owners manual in mint condition. The radio is an AM/FM Sapphire II by Bendix which I believe is very rare. It is presently not connected, ut an aftermarket radio is hooked up in it's place. The interior has the original pass through front seats that are nicely covered with nice seat belts. The dash and steering wheel are amazing. The foot pedals need new rubber pads. The full length canvas rollback sunroof is fully operational but slightly discolored. The headliner isserviceable, ut I would replace it for a cleaner appearance. This vehicle was, believe, ed in color. That was derived from the engine compartment and it's original appearance. That information is best obtained by decoding the VIN plate behind the passenger seat (see the photo). Additionally, he number on that plate and the stamped number in the engine compartment match (see photo). The engine is a replacement. I am told it is a type 1 motor.I feel one would be hard pressed to find an example of this very rare and sought after vehicle (that has not been ground up restored) in this condition. Keep in mind that Colorado is an extremely dry climate and rust is the demon that destroyed most of these vans. While I cannot say that there is absolutely no rust I have yet to find anything of concern. Most would say it is rust free. I encourage you to come to Denver and inspect it for yourself. You will not be disappointed. It is located 30 minutes from DIA. Alternatively, our agent is welcome to come inspect the vehicle on your behalf and cost. Check my feedback. I represent items fairly and accurately. The vehicle is offered as is, here is, ith no warranties expressed or implied. Please email me with your questions before bidding. The vehicle is offered FOB Denver and the purchaser is entirely responsible for transportation. International shipping is not a problem. A non refundable deposit of $2000 is due and payable via PayPal within 24 hrs of your successful bid. The balance is due in five business days by check, ash or cashiers check. The vehicle will not be released until funds have cleared the bank and are verified. The reserve is priced according to the market for these vehicles and is not disclosed, o please do not ask. The Buy It Now Price is $125,000. I do not end auctions early or deal outside of eBay during the auction. Please email me with questions before bidding and good luck.
