Triumph Other .Up for auction is a Triumph TR8 convertible. This is a very rare Triumph that is difficult to find in this price range. What makes the TR8 unique from other Triumphs is that it came with a factory installed aluminum V8 engine. It uses the Rover 3.5 V8 which was used in many British vehicles. TR8's were only built in 1980 and 1981 with very low production numbers. It has a 5-speed standard transmission. The car runs and drives good and has newer tires on it. The brakes work good however they have a little shake at higher speeds, probably will need rotors. The car looks good and appears to have been repainted once. It is very clean with no rust except for a small spot on the floof pan where it looks like it was bottomed out at some point. The convertible top is also original and needs some minor repair. I am selling this car for a friend so I don;t know a lot of details about it's history. He purchased it about 2 years ago from the family of the original owner. It was originally delivered to Canada and at some point in its life made it into the States. It has a kilometer speedometer that shows 67000 Km. which equates to about 40K miles and I believe that to bo original kilometers. Vehicle is in overall good shape withsome minor body damage on the right side and normal wear and tear expected with an original vehicle this age. This car would be a great fn car with just a little TLC or an excellent candidate for a restore as it is in such good condition and complete. Please e-mail any questions and I will do my best to answer.
