Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice original Spitfire in it's attractive factory paintwork of Saffron Yellow. This car was just purchased from it's seller on the East Coast where it lived a life with few owners and was garaged and sparingly used. As a result, it's a wonderfully honest and very original car with only what appears to have the carpets and soft top renewed. The bodywork on this car is quite exceptional. It's showing a few small dings from normal use but besides that it appears completely factory original with perfect factory gapping. Paintwork is believed to be 100% original as we've paint metered the whole car. It's your standard British Leyland orange peely finish that looks quite consistent over the whole car. There's certainly zero overspray on any of the car's attaching parts. There is a small blend on the nose of the car but it's hardly detectable unless you really look for it. The front bumper's chrome is showing some age. The rear bumper looks better. The car still retains it's original Triplex windshield. The car's interior is very nice overall with a newer carpet kit and black soft top. The original dashboard is crack-free. The panel kit and seat set look original with only a small stitching separation on the passenger's seat bottom. There is some minor breaking down of the foam visually, but really isn't detectable while sitting in the seats. A battery cut-off switch has been installed on the radio console for safety/security purposes.Mechanically the car is very good. The healthy engine starts easily on the key first try and feels well tuned. There are no noises or smoke on start up. Going down the road, the engine feels willing along with good suspensin, brakes, nice smooth tires, and a healthy exhaust note. When quickly shifted from 1st to 2nd, there is a bit of weakness in the sycromesh detected, but it does go in fine everytime. Overall, it's a good little performer. This car includes a host of original paperwork including work and parts receipts, original owner's manual and sales literature, books, jack and handle in bag, original perfect tonneau cover and top boot, spare wheel and cover, etc. This highly original early MK4 Triumph Spitfire is a rare find in this honest and well-preserved condition. It's finished in a refreshingly attractive period color scheme and is sure to provide lots of fun to it's next caretaker.
