Car description

The Triumph TR6 is one of the last great British roadsters. It combines the features we enjoy like the powerful and lively six-cylinder motor with the comfort of a full interior with roll-up windows. But most of all, it doesn't betray the sprightly nature that makes us fall in love on the backroads. That's why we love to find this turn-key smile machine available at an affordable price.

We often see these drop-tops in green or black, so it's distinctively nice to see this Triumph in its factory-correct shade of Damson plum purple. It gives this a hint of vividness you get from red, but with a deeper tone. Sort of like if you let an intense color visit a British finishing school. The body's design was a continued evolution of the TR series, but now it had more muscular fender lines. Even the little details are aggressive such as bright trim ring around the wheels that are reminiscent of Chevy's rally package. Another great touch for American-style appeal are wraparound chrome bumper. But there was also not mistaking its heritage with a flat Kamm-back treatment that was also seen on the larger Triumphs of the day.

The crisp soft top looks quite nice against the deep purple exterior. But since these are more fun when they're open to the world, it's great to see you still get this terrific color combo with the roof down. The full black interior completes the factory-correct color combo, and this one keeps a clean look with mix of good preservation and a few proper investments over the years. There are nice details like a correct-style AM/FM/cassette stereo and racing tonneau over the interior. And this is a true driver's machine with the high-back bucket seats, a grippy three-spoke sports steering wheel, and a dashboard full of Smiths gauges are ideal of enthusiasts.

The TR6 is particularly coveted for its motor. It has 2.5-liter inline-six backed by dual Stromberg carburetors, so it's one of the most powerful lightweight British roadsters of the era. The four-speed manual transmission puts you in full control and the center of the action. And the fully independent suspension and power brakes w/discs up front are all about delivering the agile sports car experience.

British roadster is a sign of distinction, and it only gets better with a ready-to-run Triumph in a distinctive factory correct color. We'll even keep the secret of how little you paid to get all of this. Call today!!!
