Car description

You are bidding on a 1970 Triumph TR6. I bought this car from the original owner last year. I would love to restore it but I am too busy for it right now. Total mileage is unknown because I assume the odometer rolled over once. The original owner founded the Triumph 6 pack club. He purchased this TR6 new in NJ but did a overseas delivery in the UK so he could tour Europe with his wife. (see the pic of the car being loaded into the plane). According to the late owner's wife the car was originally Damson with tan interior and a white top which is very rare. (see pic of delivery order).
A restoration was started on this car years ago. According to the late owner's wife the engine and transmission had been rebuilt by her husband. The car was also repainted in French blue. The engine starts right up and the car drives pretty good. Compression is 120 PSI across all cylinders. The exhuast was rusted so we cut part of it off so it wouldn't drag on the ground (halfway down the tail pipe). The OD does not work but I suspect that it could be a wiring issue. The wiring harness requires replacement because it is a MESS. When driving the car the speedometer, odometer and tachometer were not working which I think is related to the wiring harness. All other gauges are in working order.
The body is very solid with no rot. The floors have been repaired at some point. All doors shut well and have decent gaps. The windshield was replaced not too long ago. The battery box has a fiberglass skin over it. I do not know why (protection from battery acid maybe ?) The body is dent free with the exception of some small dings in the hood. The frame is decent but there are some questionable repairs past the T shirt area that will require repair. The frame is in great shape from the t shirt to the front. The paint on the car is decent and could use a wet sand with buff. If I were keeping the car I would repaint it Damson. The bumpers are in decent condition with some minor surface rust that can probably polished out. The tires are mismatched and were mounted so we could get the car rolling and driving. The car will need 4 new tires and the driver side rear tire only hold air for about a day and a half. The interior needs to be completely restored. The wood dash, crash pad, dash top and knobs are in very nice condition that is close to new. The seats need to be upholstered and you will need a complete interior kit with door panels and the other interior panels. The top frame is in decent shape and you will need the soft top itself which was originally white.
This car has been described to the best of my knowledge. The car is being sold AS IS without warranty expressed or implied. If you have any questions you can message me through ebay or call 443-226-5940. I do have several videos of the car running and driving that I can text to serious buyers. I reserve the right to end the auction early since I might use other advertising.
International buyers are welcome but are responsible for shipping.
