Time for a new challenge so I'm letting go of my baby.
In the time I've owned this beautiful car I have replaced all the brake pads and shoes, new master cylinder and converted to DOT 5 silicone brake fluid, new wheel bearings, front coils and shocks, rear transverse leaf spring and shocks.
All the original Lucas electric wiring was removed and the entire car was professionally rewired with a Kwik-Wire 14 circuit harness w/coil cut off switch. Dash redesigned using the original panels as templates. All electrics moved off the steering column onto the dash using Ron Francis Wiring Synergy Switches. Kenwood bluetooth head unit with Pioneer 6 inch 4 way rear deck speakers. Heater deleted, dashpad rebuilt and reupholstered in black vinyl. Same for the steering wheel.
Custom Speedhut gauge package with GPS speedo & tach, and quad gauge with fuel, water temp, oil pressure, and volt meter.
Engine runs very cool, usually between 160 - 170 deg. The only time it has ever crept to 190 was when I was stuck at a dead standstill in traffic for 20 minutes on a 95 degree day.
All fluids are fresh, no engine oil or gearbox leaks (oddly enough) but the differential leaves the occasional drip on the garage floor.
Mechanically this car is in excellent shape and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. And I have. It's a hoot!
What it needs:
The windshield wipers work but are not wired up. It's all there and worked before the rewire, I just didn't have them wired up when the car was being rewired.
The car comes with the convertible top frame in excellent shape but it needs new canvas, which runs about $250-$350. I was in no hurry to do it because I don't take it out if there's even a chance of rain.
Ask any questions you like. I'm parting with it because I want another car I can work on and there's nothing else I can do on this one. Thinking of trying my hand with a C10 or F100, or even a Ford Model A.
