NO RESERVE AUCTION
Up for sale is a 1981 Triumph TR7. The later cars, particularly the convertibles are the better cars. They were better built and offer greater reliability. The car offered here is one of the last TR's built being a 1981 model. The 1981 cars had the rare Bosch fuel injection which provided excellent fuel economy and performance. The later cars also had a nicer interior of blue or tan suede as opposed to the "tacky" tartan plaid offerings of the earlier cars.
A quick walk around this particular car shows it to be a good solid example. The car was nicely repainted some years ago in its original "silver leaf" metallic color - a color only offered on the last cars built. There is no evidence of any major accidents/damage in the cars' past. All panel gaps are correct. The doors, bonnet, and trunk open and close smoothly. Everything works as it should. The pop-up headlamps function properly. The interior has just been fitted with new leather seats, door panels, and carpeting. No noticeable cracks or broken plastic pieces. The convertible top is a brand new blue cloth top as original and works as it should.
Mechanically the car has been up kept with newer gaskets and seals, overhauls as needed, and regular maintenance to keep it mechanically 100%. Recently the brakes and suspension have been replaced. Just fitted with new 15" alloy wheels and tires from Woody's Wedge Shop for improved cosmetics and handling. The 2.0 liter overhead cam 4-cylinder engine starts at the turn of the key and runs flawlessly. The clutch operates effortlessly as the 5-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all of the gears.
If you have been looking for an honest Triumph TR7 convertible, then this is the car for you. The boot cover for when the top is down and a car cover are in the trunk. I just noticed the hood was popped open when I took the photos.
