Car description

Up for auction is my very, very nice 1971 Triumph TR-6 (non-overdrive) with only 90,326 miles showing on the odometer. As you can see the car is in beautiful condition. This is not your run of the mill TR-6 so please take your time and read the auction in its entirety. Dealers are asking well into the teens and twenties for cars of this condition and none are numbers matching like this one.Heritage:Thisis a true numbers matching car.The production date isMay 1970,commission number is CC 54306 L, engine number is CC 54270 Eand body tag is 54415 CC. You can order the British Heritage Certificate from England, http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/which will add value to the car if you ever decide to sell it.
Mechanicals:The car runs and drives great! Strong engine, no leaks anywhere. Brand new high-performance exhaust system from header on back that looks and sounds awesome! New alternator, battery, choke cables & knob, heater control cable & knob, new brake master cylinder, new rear brake cylinders, new rear brake shoes. New tires all around, including spare. The engine bay is very nice and tidy. The car was recently serviced whichincludeda tune up,oil change, oil filter and all fluids topped off. Miscellaneous other goodies net yet installed incude two new horns, new windshield washer motor & reservoir, and new weather stripping for the convertible top. The car starts right up withno issues orsmoke.Twin Stromberg carburetors are tuned and working perfectly. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or unusual noises from the transmission or the rear end. Note: previous owner stated that the engine was rebuilt and a new clutch kit was installed about 4,000 miles ago but I have no documentation; however given how well the car runs, engine condition and visual inspection of the engine / transmission I'd say that the work was done.
Electrical:This area is in good condition. The following items are in proper working order: headlights (high & low beam) work, wipers work, front & rearturn signals work, front & rear running lights work, side marker lights work, brake lights work, backup lights work and the license plate lights work. The dash panel lights areinop but I have a new rheostat and knob that will be provided to the buyer. Radio not working at this time.Gauges:All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand and are in working order at thistime.
Interior: Isin overall nice condition. Complete new carpet kit installedincluding trunk(correct looped style carpet). New dash top, new lower left & right dash crash pads, new dash center plinth, and new shift knob. Note: The driver's seat is torn and needs to be replaced--see photo.Exterior:The car looks beautiful in stunning red. Not a show car but looks the part. The carsitsnicely on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded TR-6 "squatting"issues. Look at howwellthe body, hood, trunk and doors fit. As seen all body panels, hood, trunk anddoors are straight and properly aligned. While I'm no expert I find no evidence of rust / rust repairs to any of the exterior body panels (all original steel body panels). The wheels are in nice condition including spare. Note:The car was repainted about a year ago and has well taken care of since then. The re-spray was done to a very high standard and I can find no over spray on any of the chrome, seals or body gaskets on the car. A re-spray of this quality and standard would cost at least $5,000.Soft Top:The soft topis in good overall condition. I have new weather stripping for both sides--easy to install. Small tear on passenger's side--about 1/2" x 1/2"which has been repaired with silicone (see photo).
Top Cover:Brand new top cover as seen in the photos.Trunk:The trunk is rock solid. Recently replaced the trunk panel kit and has new carpet in the same looped style carpet as the interior.
Underbody:This area looks solid and clean.Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/
