British sports cars were the backbone of early SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) competition and cars like this 1959 Triumph TR3A were the ideal combination of practical fun and transportation. The TR# was advertised as "Race on Sunday, drive to work on Monday". The windshield is quick rease w 4 screws!This beauty has a nice restoration, great colors, and has a classic roadster look, this Triumph gets everything right. Just imagine cruising down the open road, wind blowing, sun shining, and a huge smile on your face. You know, and so does everyone else you're driving a show car. One that others can only wish they had.

The color is Silverstone Gray, which is the original color the car came with, and it's a rare color found today compared to the familiar British Racing Green and red roadsters you'll see all over the place. Actually, TR3s are rather rare, in itself, and have seen substantial increases in value over the past few years as people discover the fun of the low-slung racing roadsters. This restoration is fresh, with a beautiful paint job that seems to glow from within when it's under the lights and it looks even better in the sun. It's unlikely that any Triumph coming out of England in the 1950's was this nice, It shows that there's a great deal of time and money invested in the end result. The car was restored, top to bottom and all the way around, It is as nice underneath and in the motor compartment as it is on top! The low-cut doors and long hood give it the appearance of a more substantial car, much like a nice Jaguar front end, and with accessories like wind wings and fender-mounted mirrors, which wasn't a factory addition but an option to add as a feature, it looks properly dressed for any classy or fun event. The chrome bumpers are in excellent condition and the Lucas Taillights are a beautiful addition that are neatly integrated into the body for an unmistakable look. You are guaranteed to make heads turn when you take this baby out on the road.

The handsomely appointed black leather interior is stylish while maintaining its sense of minimalism. The bucket seats hold you in place and are trimmed in jaunty white piping that adds an upscale look, and there are Sisal Natural Fiber Floor Mats that not only add a stylish look but also protect the flooring from wear and tear that floor carpeting gets when using the pedals. The banjo-style steering wheel is big enough to really lever the steering around sweeping corners and the steering position is in the perfect position for any steering you may need. Big, round Smiths gauges are distinctly British and eminently functional and it looks as though there's nothing in this car that doesn't help it work better. There is no radio, no installed windows, just an open top which can be closed on a cool day or evening. The 4-speed synchro manual transmission's stubby shifter falls easily to hand and slips through the gears with a practiced ease that will become second nature before you're finished with your first drive. There is, of course, a simple convertible top for those moments when you can't outrun the weather along with fresh side curtains that have never been used, stored in the trunk and the trunk is actually well-shaped and nicely finished, its size and condition is a pleasant surprise.

Given the car's featherweight bodywork, the 2332 cc big bore kit (displacement) inline-4 is plenty gutsy to make for an entertaining drive. No, it's not terrifyingly fast, just very torquey throughout the rpm range. The old adage of "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow" certainly applies here. It's just a joy to run through the gears and to feel the suspension working under you. The front disc brakes are reassuringly powerful, it will stop the moment you hit the brake pedal. The engine itself is neatly detailed with a pair of rebuilt side-draft SU carburetors and a finned aluminum valve cover, plus beautifully finished inner panels that really make it look polished. The engine bay IdentificationPlates are all original and in place where they were originally mounted. All Hoses, clamps, and other little bits are correct, so it looks right from any angle. The cooling system has been upgraded with an aluminum radiator and brass British overflow tank, which insures the radiator is full at all times, as well as an electric fan, helping it stay cool in any situation. The aforementioned 4-speed all syncho transmission has great ratios for spirited driving and the exhaust system has the right baritone bellow that signifies British performance. The suspension offers a nice balance between ride and competence and those chrome wire wheels with 165R15 black-wallsare the perfect bit of sparkle to finish it off. The front raised emblem, (TRIUMPH) was recently added with the ribbed letters. If you are looking for the perfect British Roadster restored front to back, top to bottom, then look no further, this is YOUR car!!!
