Car description |

Beautiful Saffron Yellow on black 1971 Triumph TR-6. As far as we can tell, most of the paint is original. There is some mild checking, but nothing significant and it definitely adds to the credibility of the car's life and gives it a great original survivor patina. There may be a few areas that have been touched up due to scratches, but if so, it was at least 30 years or more ago. While searching through the stack of records we found no mention of any paint or body work, so that, along with other indicators and much input from reputable shops and Triumph connoisseurs, leads us to make an educated guess that most of the paint is original. We also believe the miles to be original, at just under 66,000. Based on the condition of many of the original parts that were on the vehicle, and verifying with paperwork, 66,000 original miles seems in line with the documentation and condition.
We have owned the vehicle for about three years and in the time we have had it, have put much time, money and elbow grease into preserving as much of the original integrity and soul of the vehicle while making it daily driver reliable. We purchased the car from a collector in southern California and through the heap of records, were able to trace this car back to its second owner who bought it when it was only one year old. Incredibly, he lived in Fresno, right back where it is now! From what we can tell, this has been a California car its entire life, so as expected, it is rust free.
No expenses have been spared and everything works on this car including the horn and interior trunk light. Almost everything that has been replaced, was kept. This includes the original air cleaner, seat belts, windshield wipers, steering wheel, and much, much more. In addition to the five original wire wheels with redline tires that are on the car, there are four original steel wheels to go with the car. The top was just replaced with an original style top that has the zip down rear windows and there is also a tonneau cover to go along with the car. With the heater on and passenger side covered up, you'll stay cozy as can be even with the top down on a brisk morning.
This is a car that starts up immediately and will take you anywhere you need to go. If you're shy, this may not be the car for you as it turns heads everywhere it goes and gets compliments all along the way. As one would expect, it drives as good as it looks. Be warned though, the sound of the exhaust is intoxicating and will leave you yearning for more.
There are Triumphs out there in varying states of condition, but one would be hard pressed to find a better all around TR 6 than this. Most of the vehicles in this condition have been restored, so examples as clean, original, and rust free as this are the exception. Beyond that, being a '71, this car has the benefit of being smog exempt and not suffering from the unsightly aesthetics brought on by all of the safety standards of the mid 70's. The seats in the '71 also sat a bit lower providing much welcomed additional room for larger drivers.
No matter what your needs are, this is the perfect vintage vehicle to put in your collection. Whether you're looking for something fun to take to car shows, or want a nice convertible roadster to cruise down the PCH with your significant other in the passenger seat as the wind blows through your hair, this is the car for you. Although these vehicles are appreciating, the prices are still affordable enough to justify this being a "sensible" purchase. That may not be the case for long though, so do not miss your chance to snag this car up while it is still attainable. They're only original once, and I promise, if you pass it up, you'll be kicking yourself later.
Additional photos or video available upon request. We are not a professional dealer nor mechanic, so we encourage any potential buyer to do an in person pre-purchase inspection.
