Car description

You are viewing a beautiful example of this 1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500 Convertible. This car was restored by a gentleman in Tennessee in 2009, he passed away before he was able to drive it. The car was stored in a garage until 2012. I purchased the car in June of 2012. I replaced the following items on the car:
New set of tires.New Brake Master Cylinder and lines.New Clutch Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder.New Rear Wheel Cylinders.New Front Suspension Tie Rod, Ball Joints etc.New Brake Calipers.New Radiator and Hoses.New Plugs and Plug Wires Rotor and Cap.All Rubber Gas Hoses are new.Replaced Oil and Filter.New Seat Covers, new Door and Rear Panels.New Fuel Pump and Filter. The Gas Tank was coated in 2009.
After I purchased the car in 2012 most everything that was rubber or cloth had dried up or rotted. After repairing or replacing all damaged areas, the car was as close to brand new as it could be.
I entered the car in the "World of Wheels" two years in a row and it received 1st both years. I also entered it in the "British European Show" in Townsend and it received 1st in the GT-6 Spitfire Class.
I have owned British cars since 1975 including six (6) Spitfires. This car is by far the finest I have ever owned. The color is called Brookfield green. The paint shines like new and the body is very straight. The chrome on the front bumper needs some attention. The chromebumpers are original to the car and there is some slight oxidation on the front bumper. The rear bumper is in much better condition. The convertible top has a small hole in the clear side window section behind the driver, see picture. The drivers side has a small tear in the top corner, see picture. The top on the car has never been used in the last 8 years and has been closed up in the car, that is the reason for the hole and tear. The car was restored in 2009 by the previous owner and has been kept in covered storage ever since (by him and myself). There is also a black Tonneau cover included and repair manuals.
I have owned six (6) show cars in the last 20 years and my problem is once I finish restoring, I like to put them up and not touch them. Now I have a 1988 Lotus Esprit Anniversary Edition which has won several National Shows, and also have a 1984 Porsche 944. My wife suggests it is time to let one of them go.
I have tried to let you know everything I can about the car, but when you are dealing with cars there is always the unknown. Two years ago at the British show in Townsend, I had the gentleman putting on the show go through the car with a fine tooth comb and he told me the car was in excellent condition.
I have sold four (4) cars on Ebay over the last 9 years, shipped one (1) to Copenhagen, Denmark and another to Austin, Texas. I purchased my Lotus on Ebay from Long Island, New York.
The engine compartment is very detailed and looks great. The car has great power and is fun to drive.
If you are looking for something fun and sporty to drive, this is the car. I am pricing this car to sell. Please read my feedback as I take pride in my selling record. Please email me with any questions.
