Car description |
---|
I purchased this vehicle a long time ago as a V8 project car but never really found the time to start the project. I found this car at an estate sale in Upstate NY. The car was from the original owner and it really only had 25,000 miles on it. NO NOT 125,000. It had the original 1978 registration sticker on the windshield when I bought the car.
Still has the original Michelin tires on it from factory with original dates to prove it.
Well the car sat inside my building all comfy and dry until about 2004 and then it was under a car port covered for the next few years due to storage space. About 2 yrs. ago I decided to get it running and put it back on the road in 2014 so I sent it to the shop to have it gone over. The motor was stuck but not seized and it needed to have the brakes and clutch slaves fixed so I had them tear out the engine and completely reseal and clean it up....nothing seriously wrong so I just had them take care of leaks and running issues
I had the shop replace the clutch slave and clutch assembly while it was out and they repaired the brake master cylinder, cleaned up the brake system and got it running with lot of tune-up parts and back on the road.
I sent the car over to the paint shop to have it repainted as it was dull and faded but it did not have any rust or blisters or holes or damage of any type, just repainted in the original color.
So...it needs a new home. It does run and drive but the tires as I said are original and very dry rotted and do leak to flats after about 3 weeks or so. The car is no show car and it did get a couple of storage dings (small one on RF fender) since it was painted but the ding doctor can get them right out. I do have the title as I got it ready for the road last year. I have it inside again and safe but do not have storage for next year so it has to go because it just sits around because I do not have time to do anything with it and want to see someone enjoy it
The car is a manual transmission and 4 cylinder hardtop TR-7 with a real 25,000 miles and other than the paint and battery it is completely original
I am selling it with no reserve so bid to own it, leave a $1,000 deposit. I will expect full payment as soon as possible but you 'll have till spring to pick it up if you need the time. You can call me for anything you need to have answered. 585,704,0763 gets my cell and you can text if it makes things easier for you.

Because I have been asked about a dozen times:
The paint job was from a friend at a professional shop but it was a favor and only cost me $3,000The clutch system was nearly $900.00The additional mechanical including engine and tune-up as well as brakes and running issues was $2,200No it doesn't need any paint workYes it runs and drives but tires are not the safest even though the treads are deep
Long story short...I'm hoping the car sells locally so that I don't get killed but either way is a lose!!
