Top to bottom restored Triumph Spitfire

Up for sale is my 1980 Triumph Spitfire.First, ou will notice that this cardoesn'thave the ugly black bumpers which destroyedthe look of such astylishcar in the 1980. Insteadthe blackbumpersand all the welded onsteelneeded tosupportthe uglybumpers has beenremovedandreplaced with theEnglish chrome bumpers that were on all the carsexceptthose sold in the USA.In fact the new bumpers werehandmade for me in high gradepolishedstainlesssteel in England and shipped to the USAspecifically for this car. They arespotlessand should last for many years and unlike chrome if youscratchthem you will be able to buff them out. thesebumpersarefantastic.The frame was fully striped and no part was put back unless it was in first class condition. Thesuspensionsprings, hocks and bushingswereall replaced. Thedifferential was not justoverhauledit wasrebuild. The drive shafts wererebuiltand the propshaft wasreplaced. The gearbox was in good condition but the oil seals were still replaces. Theclutchwas replaced and the flywheel wasreconditioned. The brakes pads, rumsanddiscswere all replaced along with the mastercylinder.The engine was in good condition when I first got the car, ut I stillcompletelyrebuildit from the mainbearingsto therockercover. It has new 9:1compressionpistons, British parts Northwest modern profile cam, am followers, apits, uel pump, il pump, enerator, ater pump, lus a lot more.The cooling was also upgraded with a new aluminiumradiator with new hoses.The car also has a brand newinteriors. even the dash has been upgraded with beautifulbirdseye maple. Anddon'tmisslookingat thefantasticlooking steeringwheel. The gages areoriginalbut have been fitted with new chrome fittings. The radio isnew and even has a back upcamera.The car has a newconvertibletop (But has been used over the last year so look nearly new). The car is alsofittedwill atonneaucover that lookfantastic.As you can see the car got new paint.Wherethe colorisn't exactlyrightit'sclose andeveryoneseem to like the way it pops. As I havementionedthe car has been driven over the last year so the paint has seen the road and would need a little work to bring it back toshowroom new condition. The car was painted with abasecoat / clear coat on top of anepoxyprimer. The paint has never been color sanded so if youwantedto do this you could and I think you would get aterrificresult.The oldautomaticchokedcarburetor us out, s it has been replace by aWeberDCOE 40. The head that came with the car is also gone and replaced with with a new (not rebuild) new head with big valves.The car also has theoriginalwheels which I think isfantastic. They were taken off andreconditioned. but if they are not for you you can go for the aftermarket wheels sold by Moss andothers.Finally, he car has has an "improved" exhaust systeminstalled. Everyoneseemstolovethey should lowrumblysound of the new can and highercompressionpistons playing through thisexhaust. I think i must be getting old as i think its a little noisy.So tosumit up, t drives like a new car with a littleextrahorsepower and lookreallygood. not sure how much extrapowerthe car has fromstandard but it enuff to make the car feel a lot more up to date.With all of the above done you should get years of happy and fun driving but it could also go bangtomorrow.
