I bought this FJ in 2012 as a 40th Birthday present to myself.It was purchased from Toyota aficionado, Butch Baker from Bonham Texas. He subsequently did the conversion from a 3-speed (on the tree) to a 4-speed (on the floor) - which is so fun to drive... After 8 years of loving it, I have some other projects that I need to focus on. So, it is time to pass it onto another through this NO Reserve Auction.Here are some of the specifics associated with this classic:It has a 1986 2F rebuilt 2F motor with a torque cam and about 30k of miles on it. The '71 distributor has a Petronix electronic ignition system inside. It has a wrapped exhaust header and 2-1/2" Flowmaster pipes and muffler to help everything breath... It all runs smooth.If you are interested in hearing it, I can send you a video of starting of the vehicle with it running - just send me a note through ebay.
The interior is great as well. The stock seats and jump seats have been covered in a nice heavy tweed. An overhead console is also covered to match. There is a vintage air conditioner installed. This unit also houses the heater and defrost. Shoulder belts from a later FJ (but not too new) were installed. The interior of the truck is protected by an interior padded roll cage by Spector Off Road. The carpet kit is from JT Outfitters.
The truck does have front disc brakes, and good set of Yokohama 30X950X15s on matching disc wheels.
The exterior paint is Dune Beige with a White top. It is a really nice finish with only a couple of blemishes thanks to my young kiddos at the time. All of the bolts are the correct gold cadmium. All the rubber weather stripping has been replaced. The Bumperettes are repros from Japan.
