• The seller purchased the car from a friend's father-in-law, who was the original owner. Reportedly, the car was parked in 1990 after the sunroof cracked, and it remained in storage until last year. Sold new in California, this MR2 retains its blue-and-yellow license plates and the odometer shows less than 19,800 miles.
• The attached AutoCheck vehicle history report shows no accidents and confirms that the car has not been registered in the last 29 years.
• This MR2 has been mechanically refreshed after emerging from a 29-year slumber, with a new timing belt, fuel pump, brake pads and rotors, and more.
• The MR2's name stood for "Mid-ship Runabout 2-Seater," a reference to its mid-engine layout, compact size, and 2-seat configuration. The "4A-GE" DOHC 4-cylinder engine is mounted transversely and drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The first generation, "AW11", MR2 lasted until 1990 and was followed by a second-generation hardtop and a third-gen roadster.
