For sale is a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser. The vehicle is for sale by Hendrick Toyota of Apex in Apex, NC. It was traded in to the dealership by a customer.
It was Built June 1972 and has the original frame, F engine, etc.Restoration work has been done to the vehicle, but details about the restorations are unknown. I believe parts of the cab have been replaced with new parts because they are perfect with no signs of ever having been rusted or repaired. There is a protective coating on top of the frame and bottom of the cab that is coming off in some places on the cab. You can see some of it in the pictures. The coating is not coming off because corrosion, it is actually coming off because there is smooth paint underneath and it has lost it's adhesion. These are the parts that appear to be new parts of the cab.
The frame and body are both very clean with no rust perforation or flaking. There are few places that have normal surface rust on un-coated parts, but all of it is very light. If you look at the photos of where the steering damper attaches behind the bumper, that's about as bad as it gets. I have about 75 total photos but could only post 24 here. I also made several videos if you would like a more in depth look before coming to purchase. I also have some 360 videos if you want a more virtual tour of the FJ40.
Known issues: There is oil leaking from the front and rear cranks seals. They need replaced. Oil pan could be leaking but hard to tell since there is a leak above it. Also drivers window handle is slipping.
This vehicle is being sold as-is so please ask questions or come see it first if you need more information.
Feel free to message me if you have questions. You can also call the dealership 919-335-1709 and ask for Sofia Pitts in sales.
