Car description |

For sale is a complete frame off, nut and bolt restoration of a Toyota FJ 40 1990 (Bandeirante - OJ50LV). Truck is in absolute pristine condition. No aspect of the full frame off restoration process has been overlooked, as each part has been meticulously restored.
"Bandeirante" is a Brazilian version of the FJ40. These trucks were produced in Brazil until 2001. Truck is factory equipped with a very reliable Mercedes 4 Liters Diesel engine (OM-364) and a 4 gears transmission.
Restoration began with a solid frame and body in very good condition, it was completed dissembled, frame was removed, sand blasted and coated with a corrosion resistant paint for max protection. All the body parts were also sand blasted to bare metal and painted in Toyota Beige in separate pieces, and then carefully re-assembled on the chassis.
Lots of professional work has been done on this truck, below is a bullet point list of the build details and new parts. This, in no way, represents everything that went into this restoration:
Mechanical
- Front and rear axles were fully rebuilt with new bearings and seals. Rear axle rack and pinion were also replaced with Toyota OEM parts
- Gearbox fully rebuild with new bearings and seals
- T-case fully rebuild with new bearings and seals
- Engine has only 89,000km / 55,000 miles. The compression test results were very good, so I decided not to rebuild it. The oil pan was removed forinspection.
- Injection pump inspected.
- New water pump
- New power steering pump
- New exhaust system
- New wheel bearings and seals
- New radiator and hoses
- New battery
Brakes
- Front brakes upgraded to disc brakes. New disc calipers and pads installed. (Original drum system available).
- New master cylinder
- New wheel cylinders
- New pads all around
Suspension
- New front and rear shocks
- New front and rear springs
- New bushings
- New tie-rods
- New aluminum rims and new tires.
Body
- New front fenders (Toyota OEM)
- New rear door (Toyota OEM)
- New body seals.
- All exterior bolts and nuts replaced with stainless steel (Bolts are now Torx)
- New headlights
- New mirrors
- New floor mats (front and rear)
Interior
- New door seals and window channels
- New front seat covers
- New headliner
- New instrument panel
- New seatbelts
- New steering wheel
This truck has all the proper paperwork stating that the truck was imported lawfully. It has a clean Indiana title in my name. Also, paper work includes an original letter from Toyota stating the Toyota manufacture plant where the vehicle was produced and manufacture year.
Truck has the original front fascia with squared headlights for this year; it can be easily converted to the common regular rounded headlights if desired for an additional cost.
