We're regretfully selling our old farm truck in order to make room in the garage for a new tractor. The Toyota has been so good to us and has always started and never let us down. We're the third owners as I purchased the truck from the niece of the original owner. The Toyota was purchased locally back in March of 1978 here in Flagstaff, AZ. The niece inherited the truck about 5 years ago from her uncle and then passed it on to me.
It's a 1978 Toyota Pickup (Hilux) Longbed, (7' foot bed is great for hauling large items), 55,561 original miles, class (A) Arizona free and clear title in my name. It will be notarized into the new buyer's name upon payment in full. According to the niece, her uncle was a prominent rancher and this was one of many vehicles he owned and rarely drove. (I was told it was used as a farm truck also)
The truck runs great and always starts. As far as we know, it's 100% original and has heat, AC, 4 relatively new tires with under 3,000 miles on them. It has the original 20R Toyota engine and original transmission that shifts fine. I brought the truck into the dealer in December and had a new alignment, fluids flushed, and overall inspection. (the head mechanic, along with several employees were called out to see the old time capsule) Apparently I'm the only one who brings in a 40 year old vehicle and has it serviced at the dealer.
At that time we had the following service done as well by a local Toyota mechanic - He's a private master Toyota mechanic I use for my Lexus. The following is new:
Coolant Flush and FillThermostatUpper/Lower Hose, AC Belt, DrivebeltAll New OEM Toyota PlugsFuel Filter, Air Filter, Oil Filter, Oil ChangeSpark Plug Wires, Distributor Cap and Rotor... I may have forgot a few things done
The truck also includes the original Tool Box with key, original new OEM spark plugs, multiple sets of keys, original blank Toyota keys, OEM manual, repair guide, 1978 Toyota Truck brochure, and a rebuilt but never used Carburetor from National Carburetor in Jacksonville, FL. (we thought the carb needed a rebuild at one point but it turned out to be a lose hose)
The Toyota pickup does have some surface rust as seen in the pics. It comes off with a scrub brush but wanted to leave it on for Patina. It's missing the OEM radio which I tried to find but had no luck. The passenger exterior door lock is busted. Someone actually tried to break into the truck a while back but was unsuccessful. The lock still works from the inside - just not with the key on the passenger outside. There is a crack in the dash which was redone at one point by the previous owner. All original jacks/tools are included as well. The rear bumper is mis-aligned for some reason. When I purchased the truck it was in the back of the bed. I had the dealer put it back on and they said they didn't know why it went on crooked? It's been like that for sometime.
$500 non-refundable security deposit is due at the end of auction. The remaining balance is due within 7 days. If you have zero feedback please contact me first. I have had nothing but deadbeat Ebayers with zero feedback lately and it's quite frustrating.
