Car description |
---|
Hi up for sale I have my 1985 Toyota Celica Supra MK2, MA61, DOHC 12-valve in-line 6 cyl 2.8L 5M-GE engine (this year is the most powerful of the MK2’s) auto transmission w/overdrive. Car has very low miles for the year. 114k miles and counting as I’m still lightly driving it daily. Holds a California clean title. I have pink slip to my name. Car is pretty much all complete and mostly Oem, car has always been a California vehicle, it was purchased new at Ventura Toyota in Ventura, Ca that’s where I used to live, I relocate and now I live in Fresno county, so that been said this car is not federal it complies with California most strict emissions regulations, car recently pass smog check. I check the smog history on this car before purchase and it only has fail one time and it happens to be a (VISUAL) inspection not the actual smog!! How I know this? I found the papers of the place where the failed smog was performed and I went an ask about the reason for failing. The guy (smog tech) said I fail the car because the muffler has some age corrosion and perforations but numbers wise the car was blowing clean and pass, but I didn’t want to pass it until the muffler was replaced. (Kind of shitty but unfortunately they can do that) only in California!! So that been said this car technically has never fail a smog check. If upon purchase a smog check it’s needed or required I can get it done for the new buyer.
So let’s go to the facts the car is 34 years old, the paint has some small blemishes in a few spots but with a polish it cleaned up very decently for the age, the trunk has some rust where it’s mated to the spoiler on lowest part of hatch but NO rust anywhere else all clean, all under carriage it’s clean. There’s a dent at the front driver side corner, car was hit while parked and never knew who did it. It affected the fender, bumper cover, and bumper. Passenger side door has dent by door handle. No other accidents that I can tell. Of course the usual dents and dings here and there but nothing major. Interior is good with the exception of driver seat having the most wear. I been looking for a passenger seat to transfer the parts I need to make the seat close to perfect but no luck so far with that color.
Dash has some dryness and shrinking and cracked in a few places. Dash cover should solve that.
A/C doesn’t work and I haven’t take it anywhere for an inspection to see what’s wrong but still has (I believe) original R12 system.
Wiper washer for front not working I’m not sure if it’s just clogged, rear washer works, headlight washer works too but one of the nozzles is cracked.
Fan and heater works in all speeds.
Oem Radio works fine including the equalizer I don’t have cassettes to test the cassette player, the Oem power antenna doesn’t roll down so it stays up all the time. (Good for the radio to work) I put new kicker dash speakers and two used infinity 6.5 on rear on individual boxes. Original rear speakers are still there just not connected.
Window moldings have seen better days they start to delaminate but all moldings are there nothing missing since all windows are original never been removed.
Wheels can definitely use a refinishing to make them like new again.
Car runs and drives good and straight, in the mornings it takes a few cranks to start but after that starts on first try.
I know this car has potencial for a nice restoration and been a Supra makes it more special.
