****. *** one bid and it could be yours....?!?!?
Up for Auction is my beloved 1981 Canadian Celica GT Coupe 5 Speed. This is rare to have a Canadian Japanese car in this kind of condition. Was sets this car apart from any car I have come across in the last 35 years is the FULL maintenance log books from day one! Since new, everything recorded in log books from tire rotations to batteries to the 80 oil changes to date. Receipts for most maintenance spent though some are just hand written in log books. Car was repainted once in 2006 a metallic version of the original paint colour. Still shines nice with only a few flaws. Rear wheel arches were professionally repaired with new metal but otherwise the car is original. Some key feature to this rare GT are the rear Shadow window louvers (extremely rare), the Kamaei new/old stock front Air Dam and the period Bosch fog lights. Only modifications to the car are the tasteful Supra upgrades, Supra wheels, Supra front Recaro seats and most of all, the 1981 Supra rear differential giving this GT Coupe 4 wheel disk brakes and Limited Slip rear end...! I personally just rebuilt the engine (even though it didn't need it, just the valve seals had gone hard) Over $5572 in receipts with only 1000kms since rebuild so just broken in. Block was machined 0.20 over, crank and cam were polished with new standard bearings installed, new pistons, rings, guides, timing chain, gears, head bolts, all gaskets and seals, new water pump, oil pump, plugs, wire, cap, rotor, thermocouple, New 32/36 Weber Carb, new Pace setter header, new custom stainless steel exhaust with Manaflow muffler and cigar tip. New starter, new alternator, new radiator, new windshield, new hoses, new engine mounts and transmission mounts, new optimum battery, new clutch, throw out and pilot bearings and new High End Apline stereo and Amplifier with Blue Tooth, USB, Aux, CD and hands free phone. Alpine speakers were sourced to fit factory speaker locations with no cutting. The car will also come with OEM Maintenance manual, owners manual, 2 original keys, original floor matts plus all weather ones, original cassette player and radio and a bunch of spare parts, like starter, near new clutch, oem exhaust manifold, rad, original Asisn carb, alt etc...
I do have a Professional Appraisal from 2013 at $12 500.00 Canadian, keep in mind this was before any of the above work was done.
The Engine and Transmission are original to the car!
Car is not perfect and does have some minor blemishes, Small 1.5" crack in dash, small split in driver's door skin (less that a 1/4"), cig burn in upper drivers bolster (previous owner), some wear and/or fading on outer driver's bolster, some pealing on door trim pieces faux chrome.
The only thing I did not do to the car was suspension work, though some has been replaced recently according to the log book such as rear struts and shocks/bushings.
Car runs great, drives straight and is reliable. BFG T/A's have tons of tread, however, are showing some signs of weather cracking. I would drive it to Texas tomorrow.
Don't let the mileage bother you as this is a driven, proven and highly maintained Toyota after all with a fresh engine! Plus all my labour at no charge too...! (over 400plus hours). Car is in KMS not miles. 288312 kms or 176142miles. I will be driving the car short distances daily until sold or the snow flies so mileage will slowly increase.
I can aid with shipping with your choice of carrier or fly out and drive it home. Closest Airports are Toronto ON or Detroit MI. Import to the US is relatively simple with proper paperwork such as bill of sale, ownership signed over to you, proof of insurance. Import tax is 2.5% of bill of sale. Yes you can drive it home on a US temporary permit but you must obtain it from your State prior to your departure. Car is not Smog legal fro California unfortunately, though parts could be sourced. Also this is a non A/C car but again parts can be sourced and it is a bolt in job as Toyota indexes everything.
Car is also for sale locally so if it sells I may need to end auction as I have lost winter storage space.
Good luck bidding and I only hope this car goes to a loving home. Cheers
Car is sold with no warranties expressed or implied.
