Car description |
---|
I bought this car from my father in law 2 years ago when he had to give up driving due to Parkinson's disease. He lives in Oregon and had owned this car for 17 years and was the 2nd owner. He rarely drove the car which he called "The Rocket". It was parked in the garage and taken out once a week or so for a few miles to charge the battery. When I bought the car I drove it to Phoenix and have rarely driven it. I have probably put less than 200 miles on it in 2 years.
The car is bone stock - it has never been modified in any way. The first owner was in her 50's, my father in law is in his late 80's and I am 63 so the car has been owned by seniors for its life and has been well cared for and never abused. Here are the particulars:
- Car's original paint looks good but does have some scratches and rock dings that you would expect from a car this age. No dents or accidents.- Absolutely no rust.- Car runs great. The throttle position sensor does need to be cleaned or replaced. It does not signal the transmission to downshift for passing when the accelerator is pressed to the floor. You just have to downshift manually if you need to when passing. It does not affect how the car runs.- The windshield does have a large crack.- The leather interior is in pretty good shape. Probably could use a good conditioning.- The dash is perfect - no cracks.- The A/C blows warm air. My father in law never used the A/C in Oregon as he never drove it for more than a few miles and it rarely gets over 80 degrees where he lives (Coos Bay). So the A/C hasn't been used for at least 20 years and maybe longer. It may just need a recharge but I don't know. The system works but just blows warm air. All of the equipment is there and has never been messed with.- The vinyl cover on the center console lid has a little chunk missing out of it. I have the replacement cover but have not installed it yet.- When I bought the car I replaced the hood struts and hatch struts and replaced the master window switch on the driver door.
The car runs great and it could be a daily driver as is. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country.
**Note: I see that Auto Check states there have been 4 owners of the car and I am not sure why. I am only aware of 3 and am not trying to deceive anyone.
The car is advertised locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility.
