Car description

Highly modified 1980 Toyota Celica ST coupe. It has a clean body, rust free from the Pacific Northwest, though there is some minor cracking in the paint in a few small spots that will need to be touched up. The interior has racing buckets and harnesses with a quick release momo racing steering wheel. What really sets this Celica apart is what resides under the hood. The engine has a 22r block mated to a 20r cylinder head with a turbonetics turbocharger plumbed to the exhaust. Fuel is multi-port injected and controlled by a Motek M4 computer. Igntion is also handled electronically featuring a Motek ignition expander. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a smooth shifting 5-speed transmission. Huge racing radiator takes care of cooling duties. High performance fuel pump set up in the trunk, and the battery was relocated there a well. Tires and wheels are literally brand new. Front bumper/grille is off a Supra (I believe) and is slightly loose, likely needs clipped down or tightened. Probably tons of other goodies went in to this build that we don't know about. All performance work was done by an import performance shop on the West Coast and included a full rebuild of the engine and new clutch. The did excellent work - all of the wiring, harnesses, and lines are labeled professionally and clearly, and no lose wires or shadetree hack-jobs are noticeable. Somebody put a ton of money in to this ride to get it where it is. That being said, it's obviously an older build, and will need someone who is familiar with tuning these kind of cars to get it dialed in.

The car starts and runs, though it idles poorly and likely is in need of adjustment or tuning before it's at all drivable. When we acquired it the engine blew smoke badly, so we had the head redone and it no longer smokes at all (the head was slightly warped). However, it very clearly needs re-tuned in order to run correctly - which is something that is just not in our wheelhouse. It has brand new rims and tires with under 10 miles on them. Brakes seem to function well, and suspension appears to be tight. 5-speed shifter goes through all gears as it should and clutch grabs nicely. Mileage is completely unknown and is not required due to age.

We are by no means experts on this type of vehicle. We do know that a ton of work was put in to it by the previous owner, and tens of thousands of dollars were likely spent on the build. We've started it and driven it down the road for short distances (under 5 miles), but it will absolutely need to be trailered home to be safe. For someone who has knowledge of these kind of tuner cars, this will be an amazing buy and will be a fantastic little car with a little TLC here and there.
