Up for auction is a 1994 Toyota Celica GT Liftback.**New photos uploaded 6/3, the car is very dirty inside and out, fyi. A good cleaning will transform it!
*In case anyone is curious, the 1999 Dodge Ram 4x4 in the photos is also for sale, just not listed yet. Tons of new parts, 150k miles, starting price will be $2900.
1994 Celica GT hatchback
2.2 Liter 5SFE Motor238k miles on body, 154k on the engine and transmission. If you're familiar with Celica's then you already know that the 5sfe engine is one of the best built motors ever. There are owners on the Celica forums with 400-500k miles on their stock 5sfe's requiring basic maintenance only, and still running beautifully. :)
This is a very light car, right around 2300-2400lbs.It gets 28-32mpg fuel mileage, and is pretty darn quick for a 4 cylinder!
A/C and heat work perfectlyNo strange noises or vibrations at any speedBraking is amazing/perfectAll electrical functions work great
5 Speed Manual TransmissionAftermarket Stereo System, No subwoofer but it sounds shockingly good for stock speakers :)GT-Four (GT4) rear spoiler lifts, not installed yet but can be prior to auction end.Brand new tints all around, 35% front, 20% rear windows, windshield not tintedBrand New LED Headlights 6000k 8800lumens (Bright!! Hyper white)New LED license plate bulbsToyota OEM center console lift (raises center console lid so your elbow sits more comfortably while driving)New K&N Air filter (drop in, stock intake)New Tires (less than 1k miles)New Alternator and beltsNew rear hatch shocksNew Timing belt and water pumpNew Steering Wheel coverAftermarket exhaust (unsure of the brand, sounds good!!)Fresh oil change (Mobil1 5w30) and oil filter (K&N)Transmission oil changed and new gasket and filter installed (Mobil1 75w90)Includes spare, owners manual, 2 keys and toolset
This car drives incredibly tight, and connected to the road. Steering is instant and effortless, it's a true sports car. Shifting is notchy and feels gated, almost no travel between shifts, no issues at all. My one complaint is the clutch pedal engages a little high off the floor, but this can be remedied with an adjustment of the pedal (free!).
Another awesome aspect of this car is that you almost never see these on the road anymore, especially not the GT liftbacks. So they're a rare sight.
I had every intention to turn this into a legit GT-Four clone, including the 3SGTE turbo engine swap, but time is hard to find these days so it's been sitting, unfortunately.
The only attention this car needs is cosmetic. The sunroof has a few surface cracks but DOES NOT leak at all. It needs a good detailing inside, and outside it needs a little rust on the doors cleaned up and either a paint correction process done, or just a new re-spray done. I personally was going to do the body work and paint it a dark silver, got the fiberglass, paint and clearcoat already, but never got around to it. Planned to keep the stock rims but have them professionally repainted in gloss gunmetal or black, it would have looked incredible.
If you decide to get new doors, you can buy a complete door with glass and interior panels for $50-60 each side.An entire new sunroof assembly with the motor is $50 used, or you can get just the glass for even less. Please ask me for the link to find parts for this car, and I'll gladly send it to you.1 other interior flaw is the hvac panel has a few bulbs that died, common on these cars. The gas door likes to stick, but does open.
I am sad to sell it but I am doing a great injustice by ignoring it. I'd rather see the car go to a good home and a caring new owner with a love for Celica's. :)
Please email with any questions at all. Feel free to send offers as well. The car is available for viewing locally and transportation will need to be figured out prior to auction end. I will not ship this car, but I will be happy to assist the buyer in the shipping process. Delivery is an option within a 60 mile radius of North Aurora, IL. for a small fee.
Payments: Checks are accepted but no title will be given until the check has cleared. Paypal is only available for the deposit, not the total cost of the car. I'd rather receive the full payment in cash, if possible.
Thank you!
