Car description |
---|
Now at age 74, after many years of restoring old race cars, it's time to sell off all my accumulated stock of parts, and..... most of my cars.
This car is for sale at the shop, and elsewhere, and this listing may be ended at any time.
As Usual
ALL reasonable offers toadda "Buy it Now" considered
Yes, you can save some real money ... the low reserve is because of the short-list of uncompleted items listed below... our time is best spent on completingthe race cars that occupy most of our shop area...
We found this car in California, where the owner had run out of money for his toys, and had it shipped to our shop in Alabama.
Beautiful SR 5, it has the very rare smooth flairs .
TwinCams were not a USA option, so the owner had installed a 13T/2TG motor .. a1.8 lite, not a 1.6, and fitted with dual Weber, headers, and MSD Ignition.
He also purchased new Panasport Wheels and locking lugnuts, Sport Comp guage package, Momo steering wheel,(and other itemsthat I overlooked, none of which did he ever get to drive on the street, because he began to strip the exterior trim for new paint and his finances dried up,so the car sat in indoor storage for a while.
We proceeded to finish prepping the rust-free California body for a beautiful Mandarin orange Pearl finish, making the car a real head-turner. Only a couple of flaws from a "10"
The interior was invery cleancondition ( see the original carpets picture) but the cloth on the drivers seat and rear seat looked tired with the new paint, so we had the cloth in the seats and interior and door panels professionally redone in a striking pattern.
Both Weber carbs received new kits, and perform as they should. We have not added a choke cable ( one of a few items still not completed )
The car runs and drives, and has a current Alabama Vintage Registration and Insurance, making the car easy to export, or register in other states. That current Alabama Registration IS considered in lieu of Title, because Alabama is one of many NON-Title States for this age vehicle
The glass is good, the rubber on the windshield appears 'newer' and we replaced the rear window and new rubber after painting the car.
We installed new Clear headlight bulbs.
white spots in the pictures are reflections, not marks in the paint
I have located and ordered the trim piece for the front edge of the hood ($120.)
Some minor items have not been completed ...or installed on the car, but most all are included, as shown in the pictures. Some of the gauges were not connected by owner. The bumpers are in decent undented condition, and include the rubber ends that are good. See items shown on the table thatare not installed. The trunk and door rubbers are notany good. I noticed one wiper nut is missing, as are a couple of the interior trim items. The dome light lens is there, but poor condition.
Our expertise is in Vintage RACE car restorations ...consequently, sources for some minor bits, such as new clips for the door panels are NOT in our inventory, and we have not installed the door panels. The 4 windowhandles are included, but only one snap clip. We did not install the mirrors, they are good and appear complete, or install the exterior door handles. Please see the picture of the table .. for all the parts that are included. The tires have NO miles, except what we have driven. I did notice small cracks in one of them, I can't guarantee more may appea, you will have to assess whether they meet your requirements. As stated earlier, the Webers were thoroughly gone through at our shop with new kits, andperform well. You may want to add a choke cable to make cold starting easier. I have tried to be complete, but there may be other minor items not completed.
If the car is not sold, we will finish up these details after the New Year Holidays, and adjust the price accordingly
terms........$500 deposit by Paypal, and the Balance by wire transfer within 5 days.
The car will be stored indoorsFREE for up to 60 days...after that it will be in storage for $60. per month
