Car description

Here is a numbers matching 1978 fj40. OEM 6 cyl 4.2l 4 speed transmission. Runs great. 142,000 miles. Engine refreshed 4 years ago for $4,800. Lots of power and dependable. Have receipts for engine rebuild. Most of restoration and drive train done at IPOR in Fredericksburg. No offroading at all. Road warrior. Previous owner was meticulate with keeping records and receipts. Even has owners manual and shop manuals. Brand new 33' BF goodrich tires. Original wheels. Cooler rack and roof rack by diamond Rax from California with removable rear section for ARB roof top tents. rocker protection, 274 warn winch, RB, norkle, IAA lights wired to high beams. Runs at Highway speeds all day. (Unlike the 3 speeds with fj40 earlier than 1976). Wouldn't hesitate to drive cross country tomorrow. Drive every weekend. All maintenance up to date. Has OEM jack and factory plug in work light in glove compartment. Stock 4.2 6cyl. Runs great no leaks. Original intake. Engine bay just as stock with all oem carb intake and vacuum hoses etc. All original oem engine bay. Original manual choke on dash. Always starts on first turn of key. Warn front hubs turn freely. 4wheel drive shifts smoothly to HIgh and Low gears. Dash lights work. All exterior lights work. Transmission shifts smoothly in all 4 gears. Brakes work as they should. Oem tailgate and hardware was ($600+) This makes it easy to remove whole hardtop and no need to unbolt the swing away doors. They stay on hardtop. (I really love this addition.) still maintains newer fj40 look from rear. Originally came as Olove brown. Outside of vehicle was painted Black years ago (looks OK from 75 feet away :) never really bothered me too much. Paint (1out of 10, aybe a little better but im picky) Always planned to go back to Olive since dash and inside of hardtop has great looking original oem paint. Has 3 cracks on dash pad from age. No offroading. No holes in floors. Previous owner put diamond plating on rear fenders and it is hiding rust. Not progressing ( por 15 years ago) Floors front and rear have been patched with sheet metal by previous owner. In my opinion not a bad job either. Solid functioning body. Rhino lined floors all around. Exhaust tip has rust at the end of exhaust tip. The rest of exhaust is not rusty. Newer install. No exhaust leaks and newer muffler. Sounds very original. Previous owner installed homemade drop trunk in floor under rear seat for added hidden storage. I like it to put groceries etc in. Previous owner installed 2 hidden custom lock boxes into the two rear wells( solid weld metal job) . Has a rust spot on front drivers fender at bottom about size of quarter. Por 15 it so not progressing. Hood is solid no rust but paint is peeling under hood. Have 6 keys for the boxes. Has some rust spots inside boxes in wheel wells. Had rust on rear sill patched with metal. Has grey carpet on top of rear wheel wells. Have three kids and the vehicle has been a blast to drive with them. Can seat 3 kids in rear and 2 adults in front. Ignition key matches door locks and locking gas cover. Both door locks function properly and vehicle locks for overnight trips. Have original key and spare. Need to sell to make room for a new car addition. Ill make this transaction as easy as possible. Would be fun for buyer to fly into Richmond International airport and Drive home from there. No problem for me to make that happen for you. Sorry no trades no scams. I have zero feedback because I'm new to eBay. Just selling 2 of my cars It has been an amazing vehicle that I have spend a lot of money in additions probably around $16K total plus original cost of vehicle i am estimating that i have spent around $25,000 total buy it now for a fraction of that cost . It's going to be a happy addition to anyone's family. I have tried to describe this truck as best as possible and welcome anyone to talk with me on phone or even come by and see in person. Test drives welcomed. good luck and Happy bidding Posted with eBay Mobile
