Up for auction is my 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. Paint color/code for this FJ built in July/August of 1978 is 854 'Sky Blue'. Everyone that has seen it loves the color on the vehicle, eally turns heads when people see it as there just are not many around. I had searched for awhile for this color code and model year in a FJ that had not been lifted or altered to much from factory conditions. Vehicle has a clean and clear title in my name and possession.Good:- Original unmolested FJ. Still has the shipping sticker and option codes on glove box interior (see photo). Also, think the spare tire is the original one shipped from the factory. Clearly can't be used but I think it adds character to the vehicle. - Frame and body are solid. I've tried to represent this with the added photos. It appears the under body was undercoated when new. Some of the undercoating spray is starting to flake off due to age.- Engine starts quickly and transmission works without issue. Below is a link to a short video where you can see the vehicle in operation. Engine has good oil pressure based on instrument panel gauge reading.- Braking system has been upgraded to four wheel disc brakes and all new brake lines installed. With the four wheel disc brakes the FJ stops really well.- Factory 7 78 date stamped wheels.- Both front and rear seats are in great condition, s is the rest of the interior.- New Hankook Dynapro AT 31x10.5xR15LT tires.- New water pump and cooling system hoses. Engine runs a goodconsistenttemp, o overheating. Radiator appears to have been replaced and is in excellent condition.- Has factory center console, loor mat and factory rear heater.- Stainless steel bolts and screws have been added all around the exterior.- Ambulance doors are in good condition, olid and no signs of any rusting. Not so good:- Steering gear has a leak. I have the replacement part (brand new) and it will be included with the vehicle. I had planned on replacing but with my current work schedule I really don't have the time.- Engine starts and runs fine, ut after it warms up there is some light smoke. Not sure if the carb needs adjusted or what the issue is. Doesn't seem to impact the performance.- Overall the body is in great shape, ut there are a couple areas to mention. The front of the hood is starting to bubble a little bit, f you look at the photos of the front it is above the driver side head light. Also, here is a nickel size paint chip in front of the driver side door.- Front bumper has a small dent.- No wiper fluid container.- Weather stripping is okay for now, ut I feel it should probably be replaced in the next year or two.- Headliner looks aged and is probably the worst part of the interior.- Mileage on the vehicle is 51,575 (as pictured), omehow when it was titled in PA the odometer was listed as 65,000. I don't have any info as to whether the 51k is 151k, 51k, tc. Below are links to two short videos of the FJ being driven.Link1Link2With all that said I am not a mechanic, ot a car salesman, or am I an expert on Land Cruisers. The comments above are my honest assessment of the vehicle. I've always wanted a FJ as they have a unique style. I'd like to keep this FJ as I had looked for a while for the right one. But my truck was involved in an accident and was totaled. I need a truck around the house more than a FJ at this point. Also, 'd really like for this FJ to go to someone who will continue to restore it. It's a great candidate and really isn't far from being an excellent Land Cruiser.Deposit of $250 within 48 hours of auction close. I will accept a wire transfer as payment (to be provided post auction after deposit is made). No checks, ertified checks, ash, tc. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I've had vehicles delivered to my house in the past and the trucks have had no problem getting in or out of my neighborhood. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message and and I'll do my best to respond promptly. On Oct-19-15 at 19:15:18 PDT, eller added the following information:
Forgot to add an item. I have one key that controls the ignition and front doors. The rear doors have a lock that I don't have a key to unlock/lock. I have been locking and unlocking the rear ambulance doors from the inside.
