To open the vault like doors, mell the interior, tart the engine and drive this truck is to be transported back to 1981. Truck has a very smooth 2F engine. I just drove the truck for over an hour and then went over the overhaul checklist with our painter and mechanic. This is the BEST driving truck I have driven out of over 12 Land Cruiser that I have done and that is BEFORE we do our review and overhaul. Starts and runs smoothly. Very strong engine. Pulls up the mountain road in 3rd where others are in 2nd. Steering is very tight and direct. Ride is very tight and smooth for an FJ40. We are changing the monroe shocks to Tokico. Ran great up to 45 mph but then too much traffic and the split rims started to vibrate (will change to white 15 inch restored rims and name brand 31 inch tires) or we can put on gray 15 inch hubcap rims. Needs 2 new rear side facing 2 man benches (total 4 passenger in back) which we will install.Floor review. I crawled all under the truck it does show a slight repair under the driver's front passenger floor. Our body man and painter will scrape it to bare metal and make any repairs needed. In my opinion it looks to be original floors front and rear with a slight older rust repair under the drivers footwell.
