Up for bids is my 1981 LongBed Toyota. I rescued this truck at Phoenix AZ where it sat in the desert for several years after the original 22R cylinder head failed. Previous owner pulled the head off and abandoned the repair. The original 22R block, ith 175K miles on it, as so full of dust that I decided to go a different route for my rebuild. I found a 85K miles 20R engine with a 32/36 Weber Carburetor that a guy pulled from a 1977 Celica for a V8 conversion (nuts). I personally trust more a 20R over the 22R (better cylinder head chambers, etter intake manifold flow, lmost identical HP with smaller bore...). I got the 20R completely rebuil, although the cylinders, ains, nd rod journals are all still STD size (everything measured within acceptable limits). If you are a Toyota 20Rknowledgeable person, you are looking at one of the very fewsurvivorshere... The engine rebuild took place in December 2014, nd included the obvious honing, new bearings, ings, iming chain kit, ater pump, il pump, nd full gasket set. Engine rods and piston were weight balanced. Mileage on the truck with the new engine should be around the 2K miles (was driven from Tucson AZ to Huntsville AL, lus some local trips). The truck was rebuilt for reliability, y plan was to drive it on weekend trips to San Carlos MX but ended up moving to Rocket City AL. Here is the list of parts installed: New, Z -pride, erformance Radiator and absolutely every single water hose was replaced with a new part. New Brake Master Cylinder, new rear brake cylinders, ebuilt front calipers, new brake pads & shoes. New Clutch Master & Slave cylinders. New throttle cable. New aftermarket heater valve. Nippondenso distributor cap, otor, nd spark plug wires. NGK plugs. New Carter P4070 electric fuel pump (required for the 20R swap). The Weber carburetor resides below the factory air cleaner assy. Left allemission components in place for AZ inspection... Looks completely stock.Pulled the factory 4-speed tranny and installed a 5-speed W56 from a '87 pickup. The '87 tranny has anelectricspeedometer setup, hus the reason for the original cable not being connected. Also replaced the old '81 differential with one from a '89 2WD donor (3.73 gear ratio & more robust housing). Truck runs like a dream down the freeway (see video link below). Installed era-appropriated14" Toyota SR5 steelies with beauty rings and Toyota center caps. Brand new tires, ncluding a never used spare. NewJapanese KYB gas shocks all around. Functional, nd ugly, D rear bumper with towing ball and light trailer wiring. All windows are OK except the rear left quarter glass. It was broken when I got it, nd I replaced it with a real Carbon Fiber piece. Now being bulletproof and protecting my (your) head... Paint is all original, nd still shines. Full of dings and scratches, ut absolutely rust free. Chassis is solid and rust free too. I pulled the bed and cleaned the undercarriage. See the conditions in the included Picasa web album link, bsolutely remarkable. I can-sprayed the rear chassis with Rust Oleum just for looks.Interior is super clean. I pulled out the carpet and removed all the dust. There is absolutely no rust on the floor. Bench seat was upholstered by previous owner. Looks like a faded purple color now. I just cleaned it with a wet vac. No A/C. No radio, ut will include an '89uninstalled if wanted. Everythingworks except the left side horn switch on the steering wheel, he speedometer (I use a GPS, ee video), n the warm/cold air selector leveler (only requires a longer cable due to the aftermarket heater valve I installed). During winter, just open the hood once and open it manually. I never got to install a longer cable for it.If desired, white 7' bed camper will be also included. I bought it, ainted it, nd installed for my move/drive to AL. Right now is hanging from my garage ceiling. Not pretty, ut waterproof and very functional. See the pictures link below for a few photos of it.I'll try later to provide a link to see the truck cruising at 70 MPH + on the highway anda link to PICASA web album with a plethora of pictures of it at different angles. New eBay policies are not allowing me to do this right now...Clear title on hand. Feel free to ask any questions.Winning bidder assumes all transportation arrangements/costs. $500 non-refundable deposit required following auction end. Full payment in cash or cashier's check required within four days of bidding end. Truck will not move from my garage until all payments are cleared. In the unfortunate case the winning bidder fails to comply with the payment requirements, he truck may be offered to the second highest bidder (if reserve is met) using eBay's "second chance offer" option. Thanks,Naz On Sep-21-15 at 17:46:34 PDT, eller added the following information:
