Up for auction is this 1976 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser. It has a 5.7 fuel injected 350 Chevy motor with a stock 4 speed Toyota transmission mated to a Ranger overdrive unit from Advance Adapters. The adaptoradds a 27% overdrive option in each gear. Electric cooling fan wired with new radiator. Stock transfer case. Has Saginaw power steering conversion along with a Hell For Stout 4 inch suspension lift with greaseable shackle pins. It has stock 15 inch rims with 33x9.5x15 inch BFG all terrain tires. Tread has low miles but tires are showing some weathering. It has an auxiliary fuel tank in the rear witch is used as the primary tank and wired with a high pressure fuel pump to feed the fuel injected motor. The stock fuel tank is wired to transfer fuel to the rear tank. Toggle switches on dash for both fuel tank levels as well as transferring. Stock seats are complete but could use new coverings. Has a tuffylockable center console, FS front bumper, COT mirrors, oof rack, n N air intake, ustom dual exhaust, D deck minus speakers.... And more extras that I'm sure I'm forgetting.
As far as the body and frame goes for this cruiser the frame is solid with no rust issues. This FJ40 does have the typical rust found in all thetypical locations, s can be seen in thepictures. It hasnewer front fenders. The previous owner did use a little filler in the rocker areas as you can see clearly in pictures. Both cut outs in rear floor of truck were madeto make easy access to fuel pump and sending unit for main fuel tank. They just need to be hinged back into normal place. The headliner is falling from the roof. Their is aslight hub seal leak on front drivers side (picture). The transmission shifts a little hard into second gear but that doesn't currently affect how it drives. I willincludea fully functionalspare Toyota FJ40 4 speed transmissionwith the purchase for a swap if desired. Their are no current engine or transmissionleaks. The motor runs excellent with great power. It is a real blast to drive!
This FJ40 iscompletely road worthy and just needs some attention put towards the rust repairs, ody, nd paint to make this a solid modified classic. Their are about 5000 miles on this cruiser after the V8 conversion.
